Even after vaccinated tourists can enter quarantine free there are still problems:-

1. I believe the UK government is saying they won't issue a Covid vaccine passport.

2. Australia is looking at a smart phone app confirming vaccination BUT we know the technology fearing Thai Imm Office will not accept it as it's not on paper!

Haven't followed up on other countries proposed policies.

International tourists, will already arrive vaccinated, and at this moment already hears high in the numbers of tourists and arrivals in Thailand, most likely that in 2022 the numbers of 2019 tourists will grow well 40 million

So you work for the TAT, do ya?

Sure , still many hurdles to be taken . We all want the same rules as before , and we want them now . Realise that countries are only vaccinating for lets say 1 month , the real effects of vaccination are not there yet at the moment ( logic , since it is still very early ) . Wait till the vaccination takes its effect , and business are starting to get normal again . When that happens , we will see the next step of hurdles and travelling is 1 of them . Travelling is a big industry , and do not forget airlines are now sponsored big time by the governments to keep them alive . They will be asking for rules and regulations , which by itself will follow to the governments also . All this is normal right now , too much stuff going on to worry about other steps . We will get there , it's just a matter of time .

I think it is wishful thinking at best

Thailand was already in decline before Covid hit.

Due to the pseudogovernment & lack of true democracy/freedom for its people many others have slowly backed away

We saw it coming from 2016 when after only two years you could tell this one was different.

We knew then foreign companies could not pull out quickly as they needed to reset elsewhere etc ...but they would & did in time.

Expats also have seen the differences & many have pulled up stakes.

Finally the cash cow known as tourism & yes the underground sex trade version also have both been slammed by the pandemic

But.... tourism was already in decline due to rising prices & less & less "LOS sanuk" feel to Thailand.

The reason was not really the Thai people themselves but of course the manifestation of their own unhappiness due to this pseudogovernment

lack of direction or support for its people.

So 10 million tourist for 2021? Not in their wildest dreams

The final nail in this coffin is while initially the "free from Covid19 poster child" in their own minds...the truth was actually just lack of testing & now

that it can no longer be hidden + once again the pseudogovernment that has made no real plan for moving ahead suggests

that the once supposed poster child may now become a true Covid hot spot shortly further removing any tourism prospects
