Gas Explosion in Naklua Pizza Shop leaves 2 workers badly burnt.

On Saturday Afternoon, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirichai from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Mareblu Pizza Restaurant located on the Naklua Road after an explosion occurred at the location causing serious injuries to two employees.

The Chef, Khun Wasana aged 18 and Khun Fongaew aged 25, who works as a waitress at the shop both sustained serious burns to their face and arms after six gas cylinders exploded in the Kitchen area.

Khun Fongaew mentioned to the Chef that the gas had run out and the cylinder needed to be changed. During the change, the explosion took place.

For now the reason behind the explosion is unknown and Police are conducting further investigations as the two victims recover from their burns which are likely to require corrective surgery in the future.

Graphic photographs of horrific third degree burns to head and limbs withheld.

its always a worry that one of these potential gas bombs will go off , especially when poorly trained staff attempt to change cylinders close to naked flames.

i've seen street food stalls where the gas cylinders are standing in the street by the pavement , tubed to the cookers , inches from the traffic , this was in chinatown.
