Friend To Uk?

Featured Replies

How would I go about getting my ex TG's son to the UK to live and work, maybe go to college/uni? He's 23 but no qualifications. I don't know if it's possible but I said I would find out.

Unfortunately, there's nothing which allows someone just to come to the UK to live and work. There are many provisions within the immigration rules which allow someone to work, but the individual would have to qualify under the particular criteria. He may apply to be a student, but he'd have to have a course arranged and partially paid for prior to applying for the visa. Amongst other things, he'd have to demonstrate that the course he wishes to follow is of relevance to him and that he intends to return to Thailand upon completion of his studies. If he were successful, he'd be allowed to work 20 hours per week during term-time and 40 hours during holidays, but he would have to show that he can otherwise afford to pay fior the cost of his studies without having to work.

Moved to visas for other countries.
