The healing power of money! Woman puts the knife down when son coughs up 5,000 baht!

Police in the Isaan sub-district in Muang Buriram were called to an area outside a vehicle repair yard where a 50 year old mother was going berserk.

 

Nit was hurling all sorts of insults at her son, the owner of the garage.

 

Brandishing a metal rod and a knife she threatened to kill him then herself.

 

He doesn't love me, she bawled, he's an ungrateful rotter. 

 

Yes, she wanted the dowry back - all 211,999 in cash and five baht weight in gold - not a baht less!

 

She admitted she had mental health issues and was not afraid to rip his intestines out claiming she had previous.

 

Such was the kerfuffle that the son, and his sister inside the garage didn't dare come out.

 

The police tried to calm things as they waited to charge with their prongs. 

 

None of the locals dared intervene for fear of becoming a victim. 

 

However, after a standoff of half an hour a solution was found to the drama.

 

The son sent 5,000 baht out via an intermediary and his mum calmed down.

 

"She's always like this", he said.

 

Police let her calm down then saw her off home. 

 

Sanook reported as if it were relevant, that the mother was the wife of a military veteran.

Yeap, when I came to my father with some problem, he'd cut me off before I finished and would just say,

...let's fast forward, can we throw money at at, ...

 

and yes, that more than not solved said issue. ????

Much more fun would be video of the cops using their kit which looks more like the stuff I use when cleaning our pool.

 

Glad the situation was resolved without injury to anyone, and nobody got arrested too.

 

Five thousand was easy, she should go for ten thousand next time!

I really love the Thai Cops....they are very professional at managing these issues...Over here in America, she would be shot down in a New York minute by the trigger happy coward cops.
