I would like some advice please:

I am wanting to apply for a fiancée visa for my girlfriend to come and live with me in the UK. I have been to Thailand to see her about a year ago for 2 weeks and recently 3 weeks, we keep in touch on the phone nearly every day so have lots of evidence of contact etc.

The problem is I have just started a new job and know that I am required to provide 6 months pay slips. I was in permanent employment until I started the new job (also permanent) so I can provide a total of 6 months pay slips, just not from the same job. Will this cause problems with the application?

Also, she has 2 young daughters who live with her and her parents. They are not coming to the UK until they finish school (in about 6 years), will there be any question of who is going to support them now if she comes to the UK? (Their Father has been out of the picture for years now.)

Click on the link for some info on a visit visa, there are some good links within the thread that you might find of interest, have a read through and then post some relevant queries to your particular case.

But to answer your first questions:

The pay slips for six months from two differing companies is fine.

The children will be a good reason to return, but not solid gold, many Thais leave their children for lengthy periods of time with Grandparents so they can work and raise the money to support their family, they can just as easy do that from the U.K as from any other city.

Providing evidence of support or proposed support rather, in a supporting document will help.

Like I said read the links and post further questions, someone will answer.

Good Luck

Having just read your post again, you do mean visit you don't you, not live permanently, just checking that it was a slip of the tongue, so to speak.

Hey Moss, have you been on the soup?

The OP wants to apply for a Fiancee visa to settle in UK so no reason to return required.

The advice about pay slips from two different companies is spot on, after all people change jobs.

As for the support of her daughters, as they are currently living and being looked after by the grand parents then for that to continue should be acceptable but expect some questions (if she goes for interview) as to why she is not taking them with her.

In fact why isn't she, although legally they are entitled to apply, it wont be so easy to get them to UK when they are over 16 and no longer at school.

No I'm not Mahout, but I wish to h_ll I was.

My computer is playing up and was taking forever to load up and I was getting increasingly frustrated!!

I just read it as Visit visa and not Fiancée.

I am going to have to pay you a retainer for sorting out my replies :D
