PHUKET:-- Mass vaccinations against COVID-19 have begun in Phuket, with some 3,000 people expected to have received their first injection of the Chinese-made Sinovac vaccine “CoronaVac” at the Indoor Sports Stadium at Saphan Hin today (Apr 1).

The mass-vaccination launch today came less than 24 hours after 50,000 doses of the CoronaVac vaccine arrived on the island yesterday.

Present at Saphan Hin this morning to oversee the launch of the mass-vaccination campaign were Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew, along with Vice Governors Pichet Panapong and Piyapong Choowong, and Phuket Tourist Association President Bhummikitti Ruktaengam.

what is it - 50 thousand 100 thousand, what about the 70 odd million people that live in this country, do they not matter

It seems that the greedy few in hot spot tourist areas around the country have their sites set on replenishing the money flow into their pockets at any cost, how about vaccinating the "at risk" Thai people in all of the country first.

Message the the Thai Government - start converting your claimed massive foreign reserves into Thai baht and start supporting the people of and citizens of "Thailand"   you - hash 8 - hash 8

no wonder people are protesting peacefully

In the first thread on this subject you were scare mongering about vaccines, now you're doing your own version of the greatest hit of the band, Moving Pictures!

If you want to continue debates about effectiveness or otherwise of vaccines there is a forum specifically for the whole subject.

This is about one province trying to revive it's economy by vaccinating everyone including expats. It's about using available resources to get back some sense of normality, not rehashing tired old conspiracy theories and slanted statistics. Whether some bored, and boring, old individual believes possible side effects are more dangerous than the virus itself and wants to continue bleating on about it on a thread about distribution, is not contribution, to my thinking.

As a long term Phuket resident and property owner, I was pleased to hear about the vaccinations and certainly didn't see any reason to express opinions when there was no need.

As usual the majority of the petty responses to this action in Phuket have come from people living elsewhere.

just a reminder about the possible draw back

UK records 30 cases of rare blood clots

British regulators say they have identified 30 cases of rare blood clot events after the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine, 25 more than previously reported.

Yes although from that article its from a total of 18 million shots given, so with 30 cases of the rare blood clots in that group, it works out 1 in every 600,000.

The benefits still out-way the risks in my opinion.
