I do a domestic wire transfer for $30 from my BankofAmerica account to Bangkok Bank NYC ,arrives same day. Can also do International wire transfer directly to Bangkok Bank account in Bangkok but that costs $45.

You sir are being ripped off...

You also need to pay heed to the exchange rate you are getting.

So is the Schwab One International account basically a U.S. Schwab account, sans the checking account?

It is a brokerage account.  You can request checks and a debit card for it.  Any money left just sitting in it only earns .02% interest.  There is no money market account available for it either.  Also $25K is required to open it, either cash or transferring in stocks from another brokerage.

Well, I tried.  Again.  Initiated a new wire order, online, and it didn't go through.  No notification from Schwab at all.

Got up early today, called, and the agent said he had no idea why the transfer was canceled.  None.

Ugh.

Have been using Money Gram from the states. You can do it online, or stop at any Walmart. Money is available for pick-up in Thailand in minutes.

This is what I've used to send my wife money. I was thinking of using it again to transfer over my money that I need for the 400k baht requirement.

Do you know if this will show up in the bank account as a foreign deposit from the USA so I can use that as verification for the non o visa?
