Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has advised against the use of commercial rapid antibody test kits to assess immunity after vaccination, due to their unreliability and possible false results.

 

FDA Deputy Secretary-General Dr. Surachoke Tangvivat explained today that the rapid test kits may not be searching for the same antibodies the production of which the vaccine triggers, thus the possibility of false results.

 

Credible assessment of levels of immunity, post vaccination,must be carried out by medical experts and the tests analysed in a laboratory using complex equipment, he said, as he refuted a widely-shared report on social media, doubting the efficacy of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine, after rapid tests on several inoculated people showed negative results for antibodies.

If you don't buy the cheap Chinese ones maybe they are more trustworthy.... On the other hand how many false are there now ??

Really, are you sure its not the unreliable amount of antibodies produced by the Sinovac vaccine, ie only 3% after the first shot.

I bet they will change their stance on this issue when the AstraZeneca vaccine is the only one in use in a few short months time.

 

In fact, this being Thailand I wouldn't be surprised if you have to prove some measure of immunity at some point in the future.

 

Last year someone in the UK invented a quick, easy and cheap way to test for specific T Cells, something which could only be done in a handful of very specialised labs in the whole world prior to COVID. It still requires a lab but it's now simple if you have this new tech.

IMO there isn't even a descent test for Covid. If the quick test is no good, why should the PCR test be any good. I don't know what multiplying factor is used in Thailand, but in the USA they tend to use amplification factor of 40, advised by the FDA. Check it out. How high must you go for just stating that some bacterial debris in your system is Covid for sure. Then again there is no Covid isolation sample available to support any statements that Covid as such exists. All proof is available on the web. Check it out, do your own research.

RT-PCR tests have been proven accurate millions of times, and accurately predict hospital admissions and deaths from Covid-19. 

 

You have no basis for claiming that RT-PCR tests are inaccurate.
