Every stat you need is here.  Looks like they are doing 50k tests per day right now.

At even if it continues at the latest rate it is still only 18 million in one calendar year. For a population similar to the UK the comparisons between numbers and timeframes beggers belief.

I’ve noticed over the last 15 months, the government COVID committee mostly meets on Fridays and make announcements that evening.

That in itself, is probably not frequent enough, especially with a larger and more concerning outbreak.

Anyhow, we shall see how things develop between now and next Friday, this will determine any further escalations that may be required (Bangkok perspective)

- Curfew - don’t think will happen, soft curfew already in place by shutting all shops by 9 or 10pm through to 5am.

- Extended work from home beyond 30th April to say, mid-May - very likely, even if case numbers soften.

- Extended restrictions similar to March/April 2020 e.g full closure of shopping malls, salons, fitness centers, swimming pools, etc etc. Likely if situation does not improve in next week.

- HINT : If you are a drinker, might just be worth stocking up on provisions, don’t forget alcohol was very difficult to get hold of during April last year when sales were banned.

Gees! You are going to get all these guys with the drink problems who can't go a day without it, stocking up now.

How is it instructional? Aren't only about 10 percent of India's population vaccinated?

less than that for even 1 dose.

Less than 2% fully vaccinated.

The countries where >50% population have been vaccinated all show significant drop in cases and even bigger drops in deaths.

If there was a delayed onset that means the major second and third waves are on the way.

Main thing is to keep things locked down if cases go down, and not bow to pressure to open things up the minute cases go down.

When cases go down it does not mean the virus is going away. It means it's resting for another wave.

In the USA and India they kept opening things up at every chance making people vulnerable to a huge sneaker wave coming in.

It's just a denial and lots of people can't deal with social isolation so there is huge pressure to open things back up too soon.

The generals and their "government" will do what is best to keep their offshore accounts stocked up. Not what is best to keep this Chinese virus under control.

Yeah.  Boggles my mind when friends want to eat at Western food places all the time.  I don't get it.  Thai food is fantastic, and in general, more healthy if you avoid the fried junk.

"more healthy if you avoid the fried junk." and the sugar.

Not another useless, meaningless survey! The only purpose they serve is as click bait for all the naysayers and Thai baiters to pile in with their uninformed comments.

For heavens sake give it a rest!

Why is it meaningless? What do you think a forum is for?
