BANGKOK (Reuters) - A district of northern Thailand has launched a raffle campaign for its vaccinated residents to win a live cow per week for the rest of the year, in a bid to boost the local COVID-19 vaccination drive.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Waiving intellectual property rights for COVID-19 vaccines will not be enough to narrow the huge supply gap between rich and poor countries, the head of the World Trade Organization said on Thursday.

Quarantine camp for COVID-19 infected migrant workers in Bangkok proposed

The advisory committee of Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has recommended that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) set up a special camp for the quarantine of COVID-19 infected foreign migrant workers, to cope with increasing number of cases, CCSA Spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin said today (Thursday).

Thai Justice Minister orders compulsory Covid-19 vaccine injections to all Ministry officials

Bangkok – Thai Justice Minister Somsak Thepsutin stated today, May 20th, that he has mandated Covid-19 vaccine injections for all government officials working in the ministries jurisdiction to prevent any active case of Covid-19 Coronavirus in the workplace.

Biggest thing to fear is fear itself

A lot can go wrong if or when “Walk-in” (or whatever they call it) vaccination facilities are opened. People may scramble to receive jabs, creating potentially dangerous clusters. Untoward incidents can be captured on phone cameras and go viral. People turned away for whatever reasons can become hot, political topics. Some “recipients” may still get infected, become ill, or suffer from side effects.

Chonburi Covid-19 cases steeply rise to 127 after new clusters found at factory and migrant worker camp

Chonburi – The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 127 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today, May 21st, which is a major jump in cases from having 65 yesterday. Chonburi has significantly stepped up testing at industrial estates and workplaces in the province, which is a major reason cases rose due to findings in related workplaces.

Pattaya: Shooting incident at luxury house connected to online gambling - cop still in coma

10 Bangkok markets closed to curb COVID-19 spread

Fog of confusion over ‘walk-in jabs’ thickens in Thailand

Thailand has been abuzz with talk of “walk-in vaccinations” for the past few weeks after top government figures indicated people could get jabs just by walking into vaccination centers. However, while the idea spurred interest, it also caused much confusion amid contradictory messages from authorities.

More than 8,500 foreigners in Phuket registered to receive state vaccination

PHUKET: In just two days, more than 8,500 foreigners in Phuket have already registered to receive a state-provided COVID-19 vaccination, according to Phuket Tourist Association President Bhummikitti Raktaengam.
