madmitch
There is absolutely no sign af any smaller businesses preparing to open on 1st July and with the expected trickle of arrivals (who'll probably not be regular tourists) who can blame them? 1st October remains a more realistic date and we probably won't know the extent of businesses that'll never reopen until 2022. If they get this wrong it will be disastrous. If they get it right it will be the start of the road back to normality. The Chinese, Russian and Indian guests will comply. But the self entitled farangs? The Karen's? They will moan and complain. Say the Thais and the rules are stupid. The rules are for other people, not them. Rob Muir calls on all farangs to pull their heads in, to harden up and stop moaning about every minor little inconvenience and unite with the Thais to beat this English B117 third wave of this pandemic. Hopefully by 1st October the trickle will start to grow. As for businesses that survived, no idea but I do know a number of small businesses that are ready and desperate to open. A few managed to operate and survive until the last alcohol ban, without the "regular tourists". Staff from those outlets are still in Phuket and want and need to work. Having said that, nobody I know is naiive enough to believe that it is mass tourism that is returning, just a trickle (hopefully!) as you say.

SoilSpoil
I hope it will work. I will first fly 'home' , get properly vaccinated and then use the sandbox to come back without much hassle and rip off ASQ hotels.
