Anyone know if nitrate ointment is available in Bkk otc or from a hospital for treating anal fissure? Also anything with lindocaine in for pain relief? I used to get one with lindocaine in but seems no longer around. I know all about diet, warm baths etc just can't seem to get then to heal this time, so feels like passing broken glass. Had surgery in the 80's for it.

Nitrate ointment not available here

There is no  topical lidocaine made for  rectal use.  There is a product called Cathejell which will work (actually sold for use in urinary catheterization) but comes in small amount and can be hard to source.

You might get some relief from Proctosedyl  suppositories

Taking psylllium daily will reduce discomfort during bowel movements

If it does not improve better see a doctor. Where in Thailand are you?

Yes it is.  I had it prescribed by my doctor at Vichaiyut but it had to be ordered from Chulalongkorn.

Nitrate rectal gel is difficult to get here in pharmacies. Ask hospital pharmacy to make it for you, probably need to see a doctor first. Just did it at Bumrungrad (isosorbide). Also get Forlax, it really helps (1 or 2 10g sachets a day).
