Another Quarantine in Chiang Rai if you are just going out from an ASQ quarantine in a "red rone" (Bangkok)

Featured Replies

I know someone who is today in quarantine at an ASQ in Bangkok.

He plans to come back to his home at Chiang Rai in a few days.

He called his "boss village" and he told him that his familly has to self isolate for another new 14 days quarantine = 1 month quarantine ???

Is that true ?

(I believed that once you had the paper from your ASQ at the end of your quarantine, you could go where you want in Thailand without a new quarantine !)

The "boss village" must be living all his life in the village,  not knowing what's happening outside the village.

The first 14 days quarantine is sufficient for travel all over Thailand.

I know someone else who also had to quarantine in Chiang Rai for 14 days on orders from village chief. That's for anyone coming from red zones, including Thais. It is not however a state quarantine, but isolation at home. Can stay home but should not go out for 2 weeks. In the case I know, village chief was coming around daily, checking up and brought food and other necessities.

If he is flying from BKK to CR the people at the airport will advise what is required.

Tomorrow i will fly from Ubon to CR and transit through BKK airport, was informed no problem if i can show the ticket from Ubon. If i was coming direct from BKK its possible the 14 day quarantine would be required.

sounds as if it may be best to take a room in chiangrai till you can get things sorted.  your family can see you there

Thank you all, problem solved. At the airport arrival, officials confirmed that he doesn't have to isolate himself for 14 days after a quarantine.
