Thailand sticking with plan to welcome vaccinated tourists in July

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand will go ahead with a plan next month to reopen to vaccinated foreign visitors starting with its most popular resort island Phuket, as it tries to revive tourism while battling its biggest coronavirus outbreak so far.

Thailand to buy 25 million doses of Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer vaccines in June

The Thai government will procure 25 million doses of Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer vaccines this month, while 50 million more doses are to be procured next year for the third dose, said Director-General of the Disease Control Department Dr. Opart Karnkawinpong today (Friday).

Thai woman, WHO representative are first to be inoculated with Thai-made AstraZeneca vaccine

A 69-year old Thai woman became the first individual to receive a dose of the locally-produced AstraZeneca vaccine in Thailand.

 

A 69-year-old Thai woman and a representative of World Health Organization (WHO) regional office in Thailand became the first two individuals to receive the doses of the locally-produced AstraZeneca vaccine today, at the vaccination service centre at the Ministry of Public Health.

Thailand specifies requirements for reopening to foreign tourists on July 1

The Centre for Economic Situation Administration (CESA) meeting today (Friday) chaired by Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, has resolved to specify requirements for fully vaccinated foreign tourists to enter the kingdom without a quarantine requirement from July 1st under the highly-anticipated “Phuket Sandbox” tourism scheme.

Tourism drivers appeal for vehicle debt relief

PHUKET: Some 30 tourist passenger van drivers gathered at the Thanachart Bank branch on the bypass road today to appeal for relief on outstanding loans on their vehicles to help the drivers avoid seeing the vans repossessed.

BEIJING (Reuters) - China has approved emergency use of Sinovac Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine in people aged between three and 17, its chairman Yin Weidong told state TV late on Friday.

Koh Samui: Solar lighting set to greet foreign tourists when they return to holiday island
