appendectomy

Featured Replies

how much should an open appendectomy cost in the bkk. area?

Depends entirely on where you go.

In a government hospital and staying in a ward, under 40K

In a private hospital anywhere from 100-250 k depending on the hospital

This is assuming no complications which in turn assumes prompt treatment.

A ruptured appendix can easily run to a million baht or more of ICU care, and may cause death

A complete guess....200k.

I would gone for that......just had two nights in Bumrumgrad for a biopsy.......150,000 baht.

Your health insurance will cover it.  Appendix is never listed as a pre-existing condition AFAIK

I've also just had two nights in hospital - not Bumrungrad though.

The bill is always amusing...

I think one line was "non -clinical extras", which I thought had already been covered in "additional non- food".

Something along those lines anyway, can't be bothered to get the bill out again.

Couldn't read my bill through the tears.
