Students from DBS Denla British School have proved their excellence in Computing and Robotics by winning 5 trophies at the VEXIQ World Championships held in the United States after being Thailand's VEXIQ Champions for the 2nd year in a row!

Bangkok, 7 June 2021 - After having earned the title ‘Thailand VEXIQ Robotics Champions’ in early April, having won it for 2 years in a row, the Robotics Team from DBS Denla British School has proved their excellence in Computing and Robotics yet again at the VEXIQ World Championships held live online in the USA in late May: winning 5 trophies against competitors from around the world!

‘Dogbot’, ‘Not Vile Alpaca’, and ‘God Mode’, three groups of students from the DBS Robotics Team have worked tirelessly to develop skills in engineering, robot design, technical drawing, programming, game strategy, driving and most importantly, working as a team. The participation in this competition is a result of the Robotics co-curricular activity (CCA) at DBS where students have put in many extra hours of work during breaks, lunch, weekends and more recently using their holidays for practice and competition.

Here is the list of their awards:

Middle School - Saturn Division (5th out of 5 divisions) - Team Not Vile Alpaca 55580A

Trophy 1 - Division Champions - Highest scoring team in their division for Programming and Driving Skills Competition.

Trophy 2 - Division Excellence Award - this is presented to a team that exemplifies overall excellence in building a high-quality robotics programme. An amazing achievement - this means they are the best overall in their division!

Middle School - Jupiter Division (4th out of 5 divisions) - Team God Mode 55580B

Trophy 3 - Division Think Award - this is presented to a team with the most effective and consistent programming strategies and solutions to solve the game challenge.

Elementary School - Mars Division (3rd out of 4 divisions) - Team Dogbot 55580C

Trophy 4 - Division Champions - Highest scoring team in their division for Programming and Driving Skills Competition.

Trophy 5 - Division Think Award - this is presented to a team with the most effective and consistent programming strategies and solutions to solve the game challenge.

Huge congratulations to the DBS students, Thailand’s Robotics Champions!
