BANGKOK (NNT) - The 25 vaccination centers opened by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in its Bangkok residents’ vaccination drive have been busy since day one. The vaccination center at CentralPlaza Ladprao shopping mall is among those where many people have showed up for their appointment, eager to get their first COVID-19 shots.

A parking garage at Bangkok CentralPlaza Ladprao shopping mall has been repurposed into a vaccination center, for people who signed up via the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s portal, or via the Social Security’s vaccination offering.

Procedures at this vaccination center are similar to other places, where vaccine recipients haveto fill out a digital health screening questionnaire by scanning a QR code provided using their mobile devices. Once done, they will have their blood pressure measured, before being cleared to receive the vaccine.

People experiencing high blood pressure at the site will be allowed to take a break and take the measurement again. Two readings of high blood pressure will require a consultation with a physician to see whether the person is suitable to get the jabs.

After getting the injection, vaccine recipients are required to wait in a designated area for observation for 30 minutes. This is to ensure that anyone experiencing a severe allergic reaction will immediately be tended to by health professionals.

Once cleared in the observation, an appointment document will be issued advising when the recipient should get their second dose.

The vaccination center at CentralPlaza Ladprao is open to people with appointments only. Besides health workers administering the jabs, workers from shopping malls and volunteers are on site, to provide assistance at all steps.

People getting their jabs today said they were quite anxious at first after seeing so much vaccine-related news online, but their worries were eased once many people actually got their jabs, and are doing fine.
