Today I happened to enter an elevator with a lady around 25-30yo probably a poor insurance saleswoman from the folders she carried but not relevant I guess. Well, she was giving me her back and after pressing the floor number she pulled up a parfum spray and sprayed it towards me while coughing to mask the spray noise. I was not ready to react, luckily. As a side note: I don't stink and I'm well groomed. Racist act or she wanted me?

You say you don't stink in my experience people who stink often don't notice it themselves. 

 

Anyway i would not read to much into this.

Be sure I don't stink even after a 40k marathon but I can invite you to try yourself. Let's assume I stunk like garbage, do you spray on people? Try in the UK to spray on a black person? What happens? You go to jail probably for racist act even if he just came out of the sewage

I always remember my mum saying........if you ever catch a whiff of yourself you must really stink to everyone else.

Walked or stood behind a lot of foreigners in central Bangkok in elevators, shopping malls, along sukhumvit and the BTS who reeked.

 

More than likely it was due to this covid. Notice walking along sukhumvit or on the BTS one has the feeling some Thais deliberately cover their nose and mouth walking past a foreigner or head for the opposite end of the train carriage.

Either you let one rip before she got in, or she was disinfecting the elevator with her perfume, dirty farangs and all that, who really knows, she could be related to Anutin, cough, cough.

I think she saw how you looked at her when she entered the lift, but you couldn't see yourself.

 

You just happened to be stood behind her and felt it was directed at you, a harmless act totally misread by you in my opinion.

Maybe the powerful whiff of male  testosterone was getting her excited so she had to mask it with something?

I think she is just a nutter that thinks she is protecting herself from corona by spraying disinfectant in the lift.

 

She might have been trying to spray herself, and missed.?

 

 

It's possible, as other posters have noted, that you are unaware of your own odor. Repeated exposure to a smell paralyses the olfactory nerve.

I'd only take it personally if she was spraying me with durian juice.

Exactly right. She was probably so wrapped in prepping herself for a meet with Somchai on the 9th who kind of looks like Jungkook that she'd blocked out everyone else.

And while we're on the topic of spraying people, a friendly heads up that 'Devils breath" attacks, -over 100 already- have occurred in Wanchai bar district in Hong Kong. This is a new development, previously such attacks were confined largely to South America.

 

You can best believe it will make an appearance here, if not already, given how things are.

After a whole day at the beach, yes

She was doing what many people in lifts do these days, turning away from other passengers, for obvious reasons.

 

If she had her back to you, in order for her to spray herself, the spray would have to come in your direction.

 

That chances that she was being racist is next to zero and, whatever it was, it sure wasn't an assault!
