Red Bull Boss: Police general allegedly involved in falsifying vehicle speeds, claims Thai media

Daily News reported on the latest on the investigation into the handling of the case against Red Bull scion Vorayuth Yoovidhya or Boss.

The newly appointed head of the investigation committee is now a full police general.

This is because one of the police under investigation for wrong doing is himself a police general so he must be investigated by someone of similar rank.

The outgoing chair was Lt-Gen Chettha Kamonwanthana. His rank was not sufficient.

The new man is Pol Gen Visanu Prasatthongosot who said he was not daunted by the task.

He said he was a swift operator and would be convening the investigation committee at 10 am sharp tomorrow.

He will need to get his skates on if a public tired of the foot dragging in the case is to be satisfied, suggests ASEAN Now.

The case has dragged on for nearly nine years since the billionaire playboy drove his Ferrari into Senior Sergeant Wichian Klanprasert in the Thong Lo area of Bangkok in September 2012.

Wichian was dragged and killed under the wheels of the grey supercar.

Boss fled Thailand in 2017. There is a Red Interpol Notice out for his arrest but no reports that anyone is doing anything to apprehend him.

Instead the focus in Thailand is on how police and others investigated the case.

Now in a latest interesting tidbit Daily News said that the police general involved in the case is being investigated for allegedly fabricating and changing the speed of vehicles involved.

A huge public outcry followed last year when a public prosecutor - also under investigation - dropped charges that were subsequently reintroduced by Thai PM Prayuth Chan-ocha after the backlash.

Boss's whereabout remain unknown though he has been spotted in recent years on the Formula 1 racing circuit.

The case has always generated wide interest in Thailand falling under the "one rule for the rich and one for the rest" umbrella and widespread claims of corruption in the Royal Thai Police.

The police and legal system never cease to amaze me and not in a positive way.   No doubt the fugitive is waiting for the 10 year mark so the crime can be melted away in the system.

They can tell the time on a watch from space but they can't find and extradite this monster. Beggars belief.

Look, just save everyone time and money and admit the Thai justice system is biased and favors the rich. Or is used by those in power, to maintain their power.

Everyone knows it, so it's not like some revelation which will shake the Kingdom to its core.

It's based on the 200 year old Three-Seals Laws, so you can imagine it favored those at the top.

Pretending otherwise is delusional.

Just drop this Boss thing.

If/when he comes back he'll be a pariah. It might be better this way? He'll remain a symbol for the failure that is the Thai "legal" system

I suggest a statue of Bull Boy on Siam Square, a great symbol of Thai greed, scam and corruption.

Good luck proving who was involved.

Rubbish all they have to do is follow the money, and check which senior officer was involved in blocking attempts of finding him, there is where the answers will be.

Everybody here is a swift operator.

Utter pish.

There will be little to no evidence of such a trail to follow.

why worry about falsifying the speed the end result was death what needs investigating is who were involved with his escaping any charges and the country !

Seemed as though Verstappen was trying to emulate Vorayuth Yoovidhya in last Sunday’s F! by attempting to take out Hamilton (but failing ????)

Why does the suspect's name not appear on the list of Red Interpol Notices?

https://www.interpol.int/en/How-we-work/Notices/View-Red-Notices

Did somebody forget to hit the Save button?

It was never put there, so they lied again

No, there is not "a Red notice out for his arrest", there is a Red notice advising Interpol member police forces that there an arrest warrant has been issued for Vorayuth's arrest in Thailand only.  Interpol cannot compel any force to make arrests, it just issues advisories.

In Thailand that means he have managed to remember all the bank codes.

From the Interpol website ...

Quote

Red Notices are issued for fugitives wanted either for prosecution or to serve a sentence. A Red Notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.

Not every one is shown on the website and police forces do not get their Interpol advisories from a public website!

Is this new?  I thought it came out years ago.  Still kicking the same can around I guess.

From your comment...

"A Red Notice is a request...".

It's a request, an advisory notice, it is not mandatory.    Interpol does not have the authority to demand that individual member forces make arrests.

I think this is the only situation I know about where having thousands of Generals is actually somewhat justified.

("You know, we need a large number of Generals just in case we have to investigate one for corruption...")

A question the investigation committee will never ask: "who asked you to change the speed?" ????

This does not reflect well on Thailand as a whole.

Probably over by 11:30

Thailand would not be the only country involved in an extradition request from the RTP!    Extradition depends on the co-operation of the other country.   Beggars belief that so many posters can't get that into their heads.

Is there an Interpol red notice out for this person? If so, does anyone have proof of that other than what the RTP have said?

Thanks in advance.

People are boycotting Food Panda after they became upset over an alleged dismissal....I wonder if there'll be a boycott of Red bull product over this carryon?

Please share your knowledge and experience about the Interpol Red Notices.

Is The Boss not on the public Interpol Red Notice list so as to not run afoul of Thailand's crazy defamation laws?
