Converting from A330 to A 320 will cost the pilot 380.000 baht. NOw you know how these people get rich. Ask the one from Ryan Air.

So you believe simply because my amount of loss is insignificant to you and your family it's OK to keep the money. BTW...if you are in business you accept the risks of being in business and losses are one of them. When you are a consumer, you do not expect to pay for goods and services and then be stiffed. Big difference.

I run a company out here in LoS with my wife. The 2 of us have complete and full control and make numerous decisions on a daily basis. On rare occasions a ‘strong’ word needs to be inserted to gain each others attention.

 

Many years ago I was employed in an office of 5 women and myself, sole male. The language was one continuous expletive and one particular woman’s language had been notorious within the company for the previous 20 years. We had a re-shuffle and I was made her manager and told under no uncertain terms that her language was unacceptable. After all that time it suddenly became a major issue and I was then tasked with resolving her ‘problem’. Having been employed in the Steel and Construction industry I was willing to accept that some people communicate in that way. Alas, along with no drinking during the day or approaching Dorothy in accounts with ‘sweetheart can you get me lasts months ledger out’ most companies have now fallen under the spell of the (mainly female) ‘Human Resources’.

 

My company doesn’t have a HR department and I have a business partner that’s drama free; unless it warrants it.

I never flew with them as I don't like their attitude. You had a choice, I did not close the country. So we are in the same boat. The reason is exactly the same. NO, I think they should pay you back. and I would not let it go as well. I believe in honest business, that's why I am still poor ????

From what I have seen this is fairly typical behaviour from Thai managers especially to women and those of lesser status.

My GF works in a large retail concern whom I won't name here...while what you say is very true...the worst offenders are the female middle managers who can be absolutely ruthless to staff because they've sold out to the guys above them and become their foot soldiers.

I've just got a 'surprise' 3 year credit note on my cancelled AirAsia flights.

I was OK with them keeping the 6kbht, not their fault all the governments panicked over COVID.

 

As for the woman, time to sack her, it's what I'd do if I were CEO.

In the past i have had the pleasure to work at management level with women, it seems i was fortunate they were quick, precise in there answers and were normally spot on with there thoughts.

The thought of having to watch my P's and Q's when in there company could of had a detrimental effect on there careers, sorry but that is a fact, in a high pressure meeting they have to forget the cotton wool approach, i know you will all tell me you cant work that way today, but the ladies i employed were well paid respected and  were with us for many years.

An airline is basically in the customer service business. Yes, there is more to it behind the scenes, but the 1960's glamour surrounding air travel is gone. Now it's the same as bus or train service.

 

If you treat your employees like trash, then that filters down to how your customers get treated.

People are so overly sensitive these days. A boss should have the right to tell a rambling subordinate to shut up. No doubt the fact that he told a woman, and not a man, is what caused this to go viral.

 

In industrial history how many years has it been unacceptable to for someone in his position to tell someone who is rambling on and on, to shut up? Three years? Five years?

Working in a team of males (many years ago) we spoke however we liked and didn't mince words.

Then gradually one or two females joined our team, so language had to be "modified".

 

But our old WW2 vintage boss would walk into the room and tell the males, one by one, that they could F off, and the ladies he'd say...."Jane, you can go home".

 

All fully accepted...at that time.

She was put in her place for babbling on and if you cannot stand the heat then get out of the kitchen but having said that she did not complain . In my experience I have attended many management/contractual / trade negotiations meetings where table fisting , shouting , swearing , pen throwing were normal events and that was just from the secretaries taking the minutes .
