The Happy Frog just off the moat at 2 Ratchamanka Road. Crusty on the outside but soft in the middle like they're supposed to be.

Might try Chouquette Bakery and Cafe'. Located just outside the Sripoom corner of the moat.

Or Rimping on the river.

Or, Makro on the Superhighway.

Or. Big C at Don Chan.

My wife says she doesn't get enough of my French stick. But last night she wanted some after 23:00, and now at 70 I close my bakery at 21:30.

Just make sure no unintended rising bun in the oven, just because your 70...

Why dont you make your own ?

Tasty, fresh, no additives or preservative and above all else cheaper than the Bakery ones

I make my own , and they cost 8 Baht each for a 10 Inch Baguette.

stament

Did you ask them why they are not crusty anymore?

Or you just choose to complain here?

I know that they have many branches and even a Saturday morning market.

My bread was always OK in many of the branches i tried, but i never

experience their 50% discount for the one of the day before.

Also, like all the french bread, don't store it in a plastic bag unless you

want it to become soft like the anglo-saxon stuff.

During wet season it happen that in the evening it went a bit soft,

just a shot i the hot air oven et voila!

A happy and very happy Nana customer.

Do you have the recipe ?.

Yes, I do

But thanks for this must go to a fellow called John Kirkwood, a retired Chef from N E England who has many recipes for Breads Etc on You Tube

Thanks John.

Here goes !

You only need 4 Ingredients for this recipe

Bread Flour - readily available @ Makro 36 baht / Kg Bag

Yeast- again readily available - I use " Pakmaya Brand " Yeast - NOTE keep in Freezer after opening and it will work for ever

Water

Salt

Next look at Johns You Tube Channel and look for the " Quick Baguette Method " and follow as he instructs for the " Poolish Method "

Works well for me and the and the result is worth the little effort needed

Again , Thank you John.

Let  me know how you get on. I am no expert  and I achieved good results with this, and the cost is about 8 Baht per baguette all in.
