A former construction worker who is now laid off and unemployed due to Covid-19 related measures and restrictions that have essentially shut most major construction projects in Chonburi was found living in a concrete pipe near a road in Pattaya recently.

Pattaya Mayor confirms order of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine amid what he calls misleading information widely shared on social media

Pattaya Mayor Sontaya Khunpluem has reassured the local community that a total amount of 100,000 doses of the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine have already been reserved for local residents after false information regarding the allocation not taking place had been spread online.

Thailand’s newly developed Favipiravir syrup to be given to children, elderly from Friday

The new syrup form of Favipiravir antiviral COVID-19 medication, developed by Chulabhorn Royal Academy (CRA), Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Thai research organization Medica Innova, will be available for infected children and the elderly for free at Chulabhorn Hospital in Bangkok from this Friday (August 6th).

Bangkok’s Busarakham field hospital opens ICU to treat severe COVID-19 cases

The Busarakham field hospital, which has admitted more than 14,200 COVID-19 patients since its opening in mid-May, opened its first intensive care unit (ICU) today (Wednesday), to treat severe cases waiting to be admitted to general hospitals.

Gov’t assures all COVID-19 patients of full care

BANGKOK (NNT) - The government has assured all COVID-19 patients, who may receive treatment at home or at a community isolation center, that they will be closely monitored by medical professionals, and promising the provision of 40 million tablets monthly of locally produced Favipiravir antiviral from October.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Visitors to Thailand's resort island of Phuket in July were at just 1% of pre-pandemic levels, an official told Reuters, as a bid to revive tourism to the Southeast Asian country gets off to a slow start amid its biggest COVID-19 outbreak yet.
