Influential online doctor Mor Lab Panda - Dr Phakphoom Dechahatsadin - posted about his sense of shame and embarrassment regarding home isolation.

Many Thais with Covid are having to just stay home right now because of the lack of hospital beds and treatment options.

There are so many of you in home isolation, he said, that you can't be looked after, reported Daily News

People are not being contacted, he claimed, even when they had registered as being infected and in home isolation.

Sometimes people were contacted then just left for 7 or 8 days without any follow-up.

He said that people are receiving no help at home and media reports are clear - people are dying from Covid in their homes.

He implored those with elderly family members not to let them out of the home as an infection meant they had a high chance of dying.

For the rest of the people he urged continued caution.

Daily News also reported that nine officers at Ban Pong police station in Ratchaburi involved in a drugs bust had tested positive.

This had caused considerable distress among 200 other officers at the station, they said.

I thought Thailand was the medical hub of Asia, or was that just the private side of things and beauty treatments?

Come back to reality.  Other upper respiratory virus-born illness (like the flu) are generally ridden out at home unless the patient has other issues like breathing problems.  Before all this doctors treated based on symptoms.  Most people with mild to moderate symptoms were told to weather the flu out at home as the health system doesn't need to be burdened with mild and moderate cases taking up hospital beds.
Now it's if everyone who is tested positive needs a hospital bed.  They don't

Well it's also fact that people who test positive for Covid 19 face the possibility of quickly developing very serious complications with breathing and need help from a ventilator and there's the proven possibility of death.

A bit different to typical influenza prognosis.
