A total of 670,834 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in Thailand on Thursday, which is the most given in the country in a single day since February 28th, according to the COVID-19 Information Centre.

By Thursday, 19,632,537 people in Thailand had been vaccinated, including 15,180,276 people who have received the first jab and 4,277,071 who have been fully inoculated.

Also on Thursday, 175,190 mostly frontline health officials received their third booster shot.

Amazing they can vaccinate 670,000 a day but are hard pushed to test 50,000 a day !

Right, the Sinopharm and Sinovac would come top of the list as the best solution for the worst conditions.

If they can keep up those numbers (670000 a day), it begins to look like real progress.

And if they could improve the mix of vaccines - more AZ & Pf, less SV - everyone, not least the indigenous inhabitants of this country, could begin to look forward to the end point of the epidemic and a new 'norm' established.

and soon there are no vaccines anymore available and we drop back to 200.000 a day

So according to the health minister 70% have been vaxed , but out of a population of about 65 million only 19.6 million have been vaxed , this equals only 30 % SO 70 % TO GO ?

And 647,571 on Friday.

E8LS9fUUUAIRwwW.jpg

They're counting the set of people with two jabs twice. If you vax 10m people once, then 5m of them again, it's still only 10m people, 5m with one jab, 5m with two jabs. But it equals 15m jabs. They're calling the jabs as people.

Looked at another way, if they administer 10m jabs, that could equate to 5m double jabbed, or 10m single jabbed, or anywhere in between.

... and now you're being anal, 30:70 or 70:30, never mind, it all equals to 100, or something.

Gonna cut the nut some slack here, hasn't been a shiny 'Dr.' for that long ... pretty unfamiliar turf for a brick layer!

Wonders never seize; I assume the forecasters of the Tourism Authority of Thailand moved to the Ministry of Public Health ........... as said "wonders never seize" .........

Would be interesting to know which vaccines have been administered and what percentage of those were given to non-Thais.

I don't think these numbers are "cooked". That's my opinion. Not seeing any upside to finagling them.

There is a slide - I posted today's version of it - which if you click on the "plus sign" expands out to show the mix of AZ, SV, SPh, and now Pf. I haven't seen a recent one, but the mix has been nearly 50-50 AZ-SV.

There have been some foreigner figures published, 280,075 from 5 Aug seems reliable.

https://thethaiger.com/coronavirus/5-7-of-foreign-residents-in-thailand-have-received-a-dose-of-the-covid-19-vaccine

I read these figures as (of today) 15,687,291 people have been vaccinated.

Of those 15,687,291 people, 4,406,723 people have received two (2) doses. The remainder (11,280,568 11,094,474 forgot to subtract the 3rd dosers) have received one (1) dose.

(And of those 15,687,291, 186,094 have received three (3) doses.)

I could be wrong; I often am.

https://covidvax.live/en/location/tha

At this rate, Thailand could have 70% of people vaccinated (2 doses) in 216 days (or by Mar 10, 2022).

Rumour has it that more of the Sinovac is being trashed/used up quick for the numerous shipments of ordered AZ, Pfizer and Moderna that are currently finding their way into the broader system. It's gonna take a while to vaccinate the greater population [like it is everywhere]. These things don't overnight......patience.

"Rumour has it" is just another way of saying "I'm making things up but don't want to be held accountable."

UK vaccinated with a good vaccine - not some poor "vaccine" from China

So it matters not how may vaccines are given if they are of little use

Also it matter who gets them - sick elderly in ALL provinces

Not happening here.

Sinovac won't even be counted in most countries for travel.

Vaccinated is vaccinated, and the type is not really a reflection on the efficiency with which it is being done. None of them are of little use..... I agree rural elderly seem to be slipping through the gaps...

Slipping through the gaps? - how many vaccines have been given in Thailand and how many to the old and sick - how many have died because they slipped through the gaps???

I am guessing you are one of the supporters of vaccinating 18 year-olds in Phuket and allowing the old in (say) Issan to go unvaccinated?

If all vaccines are equally good why do the west largely ignore the Chinese vaccines. Are you really saying sinovac is as good as AZ (let alone Moderna and its ilk)?

Still need 72million plus vaccines and still need to give boosters to anyone that got 2 jabs of Sinovav.

The number given in Thailand is about 19.6million, easy to find out and actually posted on the Forum daily by helpful souls. If you do not know, you are coming from a position of ignorance. As to the other questions I don't have the data, we all know the total deaths, but I assure you many many elderly are currently being vaccinated in Bangkok every day.

You are guessing about me and way off mark, and better you don't bother. Of course it is a clear attempt to make negative statements relating to me. Again from a position of ignorance.

I did not say all vaccines are 'equally good', you have comprehension issues, I merely said they were not 'of little use'......I would prefer AZ, Moderna or Pfizer myself.
