Old wooden walk path opposite Mikes shopping Mall with holes everywhere.

Do you think the local authorities should grow a brain and fix the old wooden walk way just opposite Mikes shopping centre on beach road. Its half falling apart and holes everywhere. Instead of wasting money chopping down beautiful trees do you think they should spend money on things that really matter?

 

Also, I noticed during peak exercise time the width of the walking path is too narrow in certain areas. So many walkers, runners, mountain bike riders, buskers. They've widened the road. Now they need to widen the walking path.

It's probably part of their latest plan including tree destroying, it will be re-done or removed, it hasn't been mentioned

Expectations and reality are a world apart in Thailand.

 

It won't be fixed until long after it totally collapses and a local taxi rider with a social conscience sticks a tree branch or a purloined road cone into it.  For emphasis, the road cone may be inserted into the hole upside down.

 

This delay will only be avoided if the poor (probably overweight) soul responsible for the collapse suffers a serious injury and is fortunate enough to have the abovementioned taxi rider (with the social conscience) witness the carnage and call the local media as well as the emergency services. But I wouldn't get your hopes up too soon.

Gees - do you think maybe that will be a part of the restoration plan that they have barely even gotten started on ?

Maybe you should go down there and tell them to make that their priority because you are inconvenienced by it. I'm sure they'll drop everything and immediately get to work on that part of the restoration.

You know, once they've "grown a brain".

Mr. Kietisak Siwongchai, the Pattaya City Deputy Administrative Chief Officer, told The Pattaya News, “We have hired the Nong Nooch Landscape & Garden Design Co., Ltd. to renovate the beach since August 6th of this year which is expected to be finished in November 2023."

"This ambitious plan includes underground bathrooms, exercise areas, plenty of seating spots and shade/trees, repaired sidewalks, plenty of shrubbery and plants, a children’s playground, better lighting, more space for parking, room for food cart vendors, handicap spaces and access, and much more."

I remember when it was new. I thought it was a bit daft at the time. The deterioration was to be expected because they don't seem to understand the concept of maintenance.

 

I expect it will be replaced as part of the new development.

I'm trying to remember a "wood path" in front of Mikes.  I thought it was just concrete sidewalk.

I have followed the history of this wooden path from the beginning.

Even for Thai standards I can hardly remember a construction falling apart that quick. It started with the railing breaking apart, sometime removed.

And the irony: it was an elevated path above the sand. A meter or so.

Even signs praising it as kind of "viewing terrace" ????

After filling up the beach it's now just "lying" on the beach.

Tear down, rebuild with concrete, hard to spoil anything on beach rd.

Oh well.  

Don't remember exactly where it was, but they put some concrete structure on the  promenade blocking it and built the wooden part to allow people to walk past without going in the road.

Sounds like the thing exactly facing Mikes. There is a Thai inscription on it as to what it is about.
