Guys,

Have a friend that I do not know enough to help out, but have a couple of small question, and would be very happy if you could assist plse......

Travelling from Sweden with his Thaiwife, he is 65 years old falang...

He is going to buy a non immigrant O-VISA based on marriage/spouse

OR he is going to go VISA-excempt and use extension 30 days later...

What insurance should he buy, any suggestions???? and a further thing,m for what

period of time minimum do he need to be covered...??? Just for the first 45 days/90 days

or for a full year????

I do hope you are able to help us out..

1) The insurance that he needs to show during the application for the COE must cover the "Duration of Stay". That said, the Visa option (Non-O or Visa Exempt) will define the duration that he needs to show.

2) I am not sure whether Visa Exempt will give him 45 days now? I did read something along this line before, so that would be an important point to consider when applying for the insurance

3) Which insurance: If your friend still has an insurance from home, and that insurance can give him a letter specifically outlining his coverage for Covid in excess of 100K, then that would meet the requirements. Otherwise, the link provided above from ThaiVisaCentre will give him the cheapest options that will be accepted.

2 more things popped up in this regard, if I may ask you guys again...

a - He have choosen to buy a non immigrant O 90 days (3 months validity)

he is leaving Sweden lets say 16th november.... Can he buy the VISA

whenever he wants, or will it expire before he even have left Sweden if he

buys it now, how does it work with these 90 days....???

b - This is maybe a wellknown thing, but do my friends thaiwife need a COE

      as well???

a. The visa is valid for entry from the day it is issued. If it was issued to today it would be valid until November 28th to use for entry and get a 90 day permit to stay.

b, Yes

As said the $100,000 covid 19 insurance has to be valid for the length of stay you get when entering the country.

For a non-o visa it is 90 days. For a visa exempt entry it is at least 45 days at this time.

The insurance can be applied for here or form a company that provides it.

Is this valid also if he comes with this NON O single entry with no return tiucket, he intend to stay here in Thailand and live here... It is you mean OK just to have insurance for the initial length of stay given upon arrivel by the immigration i.e. 90 days??

Yes

A return or onward ticket is not required for entry with a valid visa
