Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has instructed hospitals nationwide to speed up the vaccination of half a million pregnant women, who are among those at high risk of COVID-19 infection.

CCSA assistant spokeswoman Dr. Apisamai Srirangsan said the center plans to vaccinate 500,000 women who are at least 12 weeks pregnant. So far, only about 45,400 have had their first dose, while about 5,000 have been fully vaccinated.

Concerns about COVID-19 risks among pregnant women are being raised following a sharp increase in the number of infections over the past month. The number of new cases recorded in expectant women surged from 819 in July to 1,506 by August 28th. So far, 69 women and 29 infants have died.

Dr. Apisamai said the CCSA's operations center has asked hospitals nationwide to contact women who are at least 12 weeks pregnant or have just given birth to get vaccinated, adding that the CCSA plans to vaccinate at least 70% of those in at-risk groups in 29 provinces in “dark red” zones by the end of this month.

Again? Or didn´t it work last time? These guys are prime examples of repeating themselves over and over again. Except when it´s not in their favor. Like, long time we heard something substantial regarding the Bull S Red Boss Boy!

I am very surprised that the antivaxxers or associated conspiracy vendors have not jumped on this topic !

A pregnant woman who develops very high temperatures from any disease risks harm to her unborn especially in the early months. The general international advice is that with no known risks of the vaccine versus the potential harm if refusing being vaccinated vaccination is strongly advised.

I guess you have never heard of Thalidomide?  Also pregnant women were not included in any of the trials of these mRNA therapies

It was the tragedy of the prescription of thalidomide that brought about major changes in the testing and trialing of new pharmaceuticals and especially greater caution related to pregnancy.

Yes known to be pregnant women were excluded in initial trials  and once given emergency use status there also have been numerous pregnant women who have inadvertently been vaccinated and to date no harm has been detected . Now specific trials are being undertaken involving pregnancy even while the advisory is to be vaccinated due to greater risk  developing severe symptoms versus no noted evidence of risk from the vaccines more so than any other person.

It remains a personal choice.
