BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Department of Health has stated that at least 85% of students, teachers and other staff of schools in COVID-19 “red” and “dark-red” zones will have to be vaccinated before their schools will be allowed to reopen for on-site learning.

UNESCO Prepares to Declare Thailand’s Doi Chiang Dao a New Biosphere Reserve

BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation has revealed that UNESCO is preparing to announce Doi Chiang Dao, part of a karst geological mountain range in Chiang Mai province, as a new biosphere reserve.

PHUKET: Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew has announced a new plan that hopes to curtail the spread of new COVID infections across the island within the next two weeks. He also claims that Phuket is not experiencing any shortage of hospital beds, but at the same time has launched a new service to determine whether people in the community who test positive for the virus actually need to occupy a hospital bed.

PHUKET: A Ukrainian woman was killed and three other people were injured after an ice delivery truck spun out of control on Thepkrasattri Rd this morning (Sept 15). The truck, a converted pickup truck with a ‘cold box’ fitted on the back, crossed the central reservation and ploughed head-on into oncoming traffic on the other side of  the road.

Construction of controversial Yuam River diversion project approved

Approval was granted today (Wednesday) for the construction of the controversial 70-billion-baht long Yuam River diversion project when the National Environment Board (NEB) gave the go-ahead for the crucial environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the project, also known as the Bhumibol Reservoir refilling project.

Phuket study confirms subdermal injections using less vaccine more effective as boost jabs

PHUKET: Phuket health officials will use only 20% of the standard vaccine dose of AstraZeneca for the third-dose ‘booster shots’ and will administer the vaccine doses as subdermal injections, not intramuscular injections, to boost the recipient’s immunity.
