drenddy
Excuse my innocence, but emergency plans should be set BEFORE the water comes, right? Not after. Or while sailing to Tesco. Edited September 25, 2021 by drenddy

Moo 2
Hurry up Prayut, it's flooding everywhere already. This work has to be done during the dry season, don't wait until it floods again. You know the song "it's now or never, la la ".

They have not. So many promises so many lies. Agree. Our house and garden were under a metre plus of water for 3 months during the 2011 floods. Everything was going to be fixed....clean Klongs (choked with water hyacinth and rubbish ) install huge drainage pipes, mega pumps etc. We had to come in by boat. Not only to the house but inside as well.Luckily 2 story so could move a lot upstairs...but not everything ! Even Yingluk's house was flooded. What's changed in 10years? Only nature hasn't thrown 3 consecutive typhoons over Thailand !
Aussieroaming
68 m3 of water pumped....don't think so, unless they were using buckets. If they set the dewatering pumps up then where do they discharge the flow during a major regional flood event. Dewatering only works if you can redirect the water to somewhere that has capacity to take the runoff, otherwise the BMA are just pumping water in circles. If they have to release dam water from upstream resevoirs to relieve the levels in them then the flooding down here is just going to worsen in the short term, unfortunately. Thats what happens when a city is built on a river delta.
