I suspect they failed to check them for oil ,on a regular basis...

I believe you're an incredible optimist.  I don't think they have a suspicion that there could be oil in them.

  • I would say that is BS ,if sand was put in to the fuel tanks ,also like how with lockable fuel caps . The sand would not reach the engine it would block the fuel lines  first  then if any got any

  • Perhaps they could save those millions of baht by not using the water cannons to suppress citizens in what is purported to be a democracy.

Arent anti riot vans supposed to be somewhat robust. They're anti riot vans <deleted>. The police think everyone is a stupid as they are?

Struth! I give up.

The place just gets sillier every day.

It really makes me sick listening to the crooks on a daily base.

Endless greed.

Thats what fuel filters are for,,,7 mill to clean the tanks and fuel lines and 40 mill split up amongst the crew

Protesters should of put sugar into the full tanks. Works wonders as it dissolves in the fuel.

Anyone know the make and model?

Perhaps cheaper to buy new mobile water canons instead of repair .

correct, it would be impossible to describe how sillier it gets every day to other than to someone who lives here.

unlikely they had access to the fuel cap even on a 2012 model  heh

well they must have had access to the fuel tank seeing as it is 5 units that have sand in the tanks, this has been confirmed by the RTP -- now would they ever tell you a lie?

The next time they have to use sugar is much more effective.

Imagine them, with the governments record of apps that frequently fail to work, programming the computers that control the flight.

So they are responsible for the lost Pattaya Beach.

either of the two options incurs additional expense.

1) brown envelopes

2) larger brown envelopes

How many "proper" vaccines could you buy with this money.

The sand would not reach the engine it would block the fuel lines  first  then if any got any farther block the fuel filter ,if any got any farther it would block the fuel injection pump and fuel lines on the way .

The only way sand could get in to the engine is vie the air intake system ,which I would have thought was sealed from the outside by the factory  to prevent anyone from getting at it.

Sounds like ,Let's make lots of money by saying  these engines  are stuffed ,if Jo Ferrari can do it so can we

i wonder which high ranking police officers brother has a workshop for repairs

especially their engines, due to the sand allegedly put into the fuel tanks by some protesters.

Ha ha! Nice one. No filters in the fuel lines? Go tell it on the mountain....Buy five locally made pickups and put cops in the back wearing Songkhran outfits along with a barrel of chilled water and get out and give those protesters hell!

One of those posts you don't have to read.

Just click the laugh emoji.

not enough emoji's to cover the stupidity of their non-sense.

In most cities and big towns here are shops which specialise in complete engine strip and rebuilds and if they cannot get the spares they can also make them in house or they know of another specialist shop that can do it.

No need to send the trucks to Korea or get Korean engineers to come to Thailand, get them repaired locally.

What a load of bo11ocks - the <deleted> are at it again. The truth will never be revealed and some of the brown boys walked with very thick envelopes.

Such gear, in Europe, has fuel lids which you cannot be opened by non-authorized people but Thailand of course must have had a special limited edition of <deleted> vehicles. Lids accessible to any Somchai, no filters whatsoever and hence the repair price tag of THB 9.4 million an engine ..... go figure!

And how does a protester get near enough for long enough to put sand into the fuel tank of a police water canon truck?

I too was wondering how anyone could outsmart the RTP

Then it would be sweet to spend B 47m, right?

Wonder no more, it has been confirmed that it can be done ????

The listed price of an armed water cannon truck is about 150,000 USD.  So 5 is 750,000 USD or 25M baht.  Old Joe Ferrari must have been reposted already!

Where are you finding that?  From what I found, the base price of an inferior Chinese model is US$250,000.  South Korean armored trucks are going to cost a lot more than that, plus add-ons, shipping & training.

Now I'm not advocating martial law or repression,  but I'd rather see these trucks back up & running ASAP, because if they don't have water to shoot, they'll go back to using bullets.
