Cat Telecom And Itunes Problem

Featured Replies

It's been about 6 months now (maybe more) that I've been unable to use the iTunes store with CAT Telecom. For some reason the store is always unaccessible when I'm using CAT. I've recently moved to another province in Thailand and I've subscribed with CAT again, the same problem is happening.

When I try the iTunes store with another ISP I works just fine, so that's why I think CAT Telecom is the problem. I have my suspicion that their screening NAT proxy is affecting it. For instance, Google IG (www.google.com/ig) doesn't display my feeds properly as if the NAT was screwing up some code somehow. Perhaps it's the same thing with the iTunes store which is why it doesn't load for me.

Anyways, does anyone has any insight as what might cause this and or it can be fixed?

The "fix" has now been made illegal apprently.. Try contacting CAT directly

me> Hi yes hello, is this CAT Telecom Support?

cat> yes how may help you sir?

me> i'm having trouble accessing some sites that aren't blocked but misinterpreted by my browser because of probably your NAT router or filtering technology or something.

cat> what username sir?

me> <i give my username>

cat> you internet no work sir?

me> well it does work but like i said some sites aren't displayed properly in my browser, also i cant connect to the itunes store. But when i use another ISP it works just fine, it looks like you guys are filtering the traffic or something and its affecting legitimate sites.

cat> try to turn off adsl router and wait 5 minutes and turn on again sir.

me> hummpph... (the rest is not worth mentioning)

Had a conversation with CSloxinfo before, i'll cut to the good bit..

me> well thats just a complete joke then, what are you running an ISP or a Circus?

cslox> Circus Sir

bump, anyone figured this out? I doubt CAT telecom is voluntarily blocking the Itunes store...

My AppleTV is worthless...

18 months or so ago, there was a version of iTunes which managed to block all internet access from certain routers - I cant remember the details - I assume you have the latest version installed?

Yeah I have the latest iTunes version installed. Same thing happens on my Mac and my PC. It really blows, I have this new shiny AppleTV which sync with my Itunes. But it's kind of worthless if I can't go buy TV shows on the itunes store.
