Popular Post stigar Posted October 29, 2021 Popular Post Posted October 29, 2021 I speak thai and khmer.My exwife from surin learned me that.It tooks a time.About 4-5 years.Her english is wery good.She pushed me by listening and remember what they talked about.KEYWORDS.Now im happy that i can travel around thailand alone sometimes.About my thai i speak "streethai"means wery short but understandable for everyone.I have a friend from england.He study in shool to learn thai.When he visited and my exwife family he couldnt understand because of the short words and fast replies.My wife want to learn to read and write..but i dont need that.Me and my exwife divorced 6 year ago.Our 2 kids live in my country.Both of them speak thai and my country language too.They live here about 12 year now.I meet some foreigners whos been living in thailand 20-30 years,but still not leraning to speak thai.Sometimes i ask myself..WHY NOT. 3

bbko Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 After living in several countries (Korea, Turkey, Japan) and learning enough of those languages to get around, I find Thai hardest to learn, the tones always mess me up, but I still try to learn. I sometimes jokingly call my 14 y/o Luk Khreung son my talking dictionary. He's fluent in both Thai & English and learning Chinese, so he teaches his mom/my wife English and teaches me how to pronounce Thai words correctly, the hard part is remembering all of them...555. 1
