Thailand on Saturday (October 30) reported 9,244 new COVID-19 cases, 8,305 recoveries and 88 additional deaths over the past 24 hours.

▶︎ Total infections since April 1: 1,874,302

▶︎ Total recoveries since since April 1: 1,76,449

Saturday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 1,903,165 with 19,158 deaths.

The news comes as the Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will soon start reviewing proposals for the emergency use of three COVID-19 vaccines for young children. It is now awaiting safety and efficacy related data from manufacturers.

The Department of Disease Control (DDC) said the Thai FDA is now awaiting the submission of safety and efficacy data from Sinovac, Sinopharm, and Pfizer to extend the emergency use of these COVID-19 vaccines to young children.

DDC Director-General Dr. Opart Karnkawinpong said the vaccines, which are now available in Thailand, can immediately be administered for children after receiving the emergency authorization from the Thai FDA, after the review of relevant data.

I understood that when Sinovac stock was depleted end of this month that no further supplies would be ordered and now the FDA is awaiting the submission of safety and efficacy data from Sinovac in order that this can be administered to young children.  How much stock do they actually have left?

Latest data from the worldometer ranking table for deaths/million of population over the past 7 days, including yesterday’s numbers, shows Thailand up one place at 71st in the world, 27 places below the UK.

Same table shows Thailand remain at 14th in Asia, 4 places below the Philippines and 6 places above Vietnam.

They said they would be ordering no more when stocks finish and there was no need to use it again after Oct, they even had some pretty graphs demonstrating this.

However when Prayut who received 2 AZ and has now received his booster of Pfizer before anyone else in need or any official announcement of when it will happen to the general public, there's little hope of believing any announcements made, certainly thats the evidence demonstrated so far by officials.

CCSA official interpretation of the worldometers ranking today.

Ranked 24th in the world.

Covid mortality rate per million people = 274

Total case rate per million people = 27,176

data 30 oct 4.png

Not budging from that rank for a long time unless a country below them has an explosion of cases.

Well which ever way the fan boys want to interpret this Thailand was 177. Fairly sure the response we be deaths overall. Deaths since Delta hit would see Thailand a lot higher.

Great effort.

Another day over one million doses administered. At this rate the 70% fully vaccinated target across the country by year end should be comfortably met.
