Apsara Authority records more than 2 million trees planted

Apsara Authority, with the participation of monks and the private sector, on Monday planted 2,500 trees in the area of Preah Vihear Pram Pi Lveng Pagoda of Angkor Park to complement the beauty and environment of Angkor Wat.

 

Apsara director general Hang Pov said: “We have been planting trees in Angkor Park since 2004, and this action still continues.” “We have planted about two million trees so far, which does not include the trees that we provided to members of the public, both inside and outside of Siem Reap province.”

 

He added that trees absorb high humidity, which reduces radiant heat in the ground and provides shade and windbreaks for the stones of the ancient temples.
