webfact
By Cod Satrusayang The movement of people within Thailand will be a major problem for the government and its Covid measures as the country slowly opens up, a source in the health ministry told Thai Enquirer on Friday. Thailand has opened its doors to vaccinated tourists since November 1 in a bid to kickstart the economy and save the troubled hospitality sector. And even though no incoming tourist has tested positive for Covid-19 year, the major hurdle will be the internal movement taking place inside the country to support the country’s reopening. I am a little confused with this statement. At least 6 have tested positive with one now in Phuket as well just this week. 4
fangless
From a MOH person who seems to be talking sense for one. Interesting though that it is not a spokesperson nor is the person identified! “I am not worried at all about the incoming tourists. They are vaccinated, they will be okay. What worries me is that these sandbox zones were suppose to be exclusive but so far there has been free travel throughout the country,” the source said. “That means the disease is going to spread and fast unless we step up vaccination and strictly quarantine those province whose vaccination rates have lagged behind.”
Popular Post tingtong
Don't think internal move will be a bigger hurdle then importing poor (slave) labour from the neighboring countries by the 10s of thousands. In theory the government could vaccinate most locals anyhow. In reality...?
Popular Post internationalism
it's khmer and burmese who work in tourist industry, because they speak english, would take low payed jobs for long hours shifts. So they would be trickling back through borders. The case of phuket sandbox sudden spike in infections were burmese workers. Some of them came from red zones, where shops, services were temporarily closed down.

Popular Post Cake Monster
Opening up so soon with fewer than 50 % of the population having received a double Dose of Vaccine was always going to bring major issues such as this. I would now be fully expecting the Infections to start rising, as not only Migration of people around the Country intensifies, but also the belief for many Thais is that the Virus is now OK, and finished its dirty work in Thailand. Many now are dropping their guard and not wearing Masks except to 7/11 or the Supermarket, and Social Distancing has all but stopped completely. 4 1

They should know. It was exactly this which was encouraged by Prayut that accelerated the whole Delta spread to every province or most provinces. Look how that went. Now with less than 50% fully jabbed and many of those needing an mRNA booster I wonder how things will turn out this time round. 7

Unfortunately many do not even know that you can still catch and spread SarS-CoV-2 once you have been fully vaccinated.

Deli
They don't even vaxx a 7 digit figure a day, loosers from Anutin's department. However, opening is essential for the economy. Deal with it and don't whinge under your blue roof. It is not as leathal as Governments all around the world want to make believe, for multiple reasons. 1

Saw the video on the news, everyone sitting in a chair distanced from others and unable to stand and dance. Seemed very regulated to me.
unblocktheplanet
No possibility of any distancing at my public hospital, either. Thailand is an accident waiting to be a disaster.
