Oh my.

Oh my god. Europe will never get ahead of the virus because of the recalcitrant contingent that refused to be vaccinated. Germany is seeing a big spike with only 66.9% of the population vaccinated. Most in Europe are maskless going to the pubs and football matches and really a woeful situation.

Bla Bla Bla....just like the 6 million Brit's that were 'desperate' to get to Thailand.   My Niece works in a Travel Agency in a large British City and says business is brisk now....but none of it is for Thailand because as soon as people see all the requirements and hoops to jump through they book to go elsewhere !

And trying to get a Visa via the app is near on impossible, so there will be even less!  Listening to one of the British websites today, from a Guy who is in the UK and has booked up to come on Monday, but despite being very IT wise, cannot get approval from the app and is thinking on cancelling.  In his words, the app is similar to what he would expect his 10 year old son to design and is very user unfriendly.

Yes, the scums trying to make up for loss revenue. Airport to Pattaya or vise verse 1200 and they pay toll fees is a fair price

There are other options, bolt, the bus, or look on social media before you arrive and find someone  that will do it for lk ess.  I was paying 800thb in 2018.  They have lost their greedy minds

The Swedes are not coming to Pattaya.

They know you can get a beer in Phuket.

Or another country.  Lest not we observe  whats happening  in the rest of the world.  Cases are climbing  and the vaccines  are losing efficacy.   So is this the way forward to just open the door. Other countries will just make it harder to return or enter from Asia

Hi, trying to find flight tickets to Thailand, checked flight ticket websites Expedia.com, AviaEasy.com, Cheaptickets.com, anymore suggestions to find cheap tickets?

Try Skyscanner.   Please don't ask about how/where to book SHA+ certified hotels though !????

What the article does tell you is that the Swedish Foreign Ministry recommends against travel to Thailand.

This means that your standard travel insurance is void and you need to pay an extra premium for the pleasure to travel here.

There is a sizeable Scandinavian contingent who overwinter here, my condo block alone normally has dozens.  Many own condos or houses.  I'm guessing this influx is them, they couldn't come last year, looks like they're coming this year.

So, welcome, but not really tourists.

I hope they remember to tell the tourists on the consequences of getting tested positive on arrival.(Being dragged off to isolation no matter your condition)

Anyone who books a 14 day holiday here now, needs their brain checked.

Which one?

The small ones tells the big one that all is good. Not tinking too mut.

2nd chart is Russia.

Chinese not coming, Russians, Germans, Brits .... with massive surge in cases. If cases in Thailand go up again, who do you think they will blame. Yes, the foreign tourists.

Sandra Miller Kinge from the Apollo travel group said that there have been three times as many bookings to Thailand compared to the week previous, adding that there has been great interest in Thailand.

Does this mean 3 people have booked or 6?  Asking for a friend.

To me it's easy - the vaccines work - they are 'safe and effective' so the vaccinated are safe from both contracting the virus as well as spreading the virus!  Right?  So - open up Thailand 100% to the vaccinated.
????  "But the vaccinated may not be safe." ????  Well, there you have it.  Fear.

Maybe you think you live in a world of 100% absolutes, only black and white, yes and no. But  that's not the reality of the world. It's often shades of gray, such as with the coronavirus and vaccines. It's all about the scientific reality that reflects that, and not about fear.

The better vaccines do a very good job of preventing death and serious illness from COVID -- but not at the 100% levels, more like in the 90+% levels at the outset. But then there are the pesky less than best vaccines that have lesser rates of preventing death and serious illness, including many of the types originally given to most people in Thailand. So vaccinated people in general may be largely protected, but there's no absolute guarantee on a person to person basis.

Likewise with the ability to contract and then spread the coronavirus infection, the better vaccines are believed to lessen the likelihood of a vaccinated person becoming infected. And if that vaccinated person does become infected, the vaccine is believed to lessen the likelihood that they can infect others (by lessening the duration of their period of infectiousness, the scientists believe).  Thus once again, the vaccines improve your odds, but are no absolute guarantee on a person to person basis.

So those are the reasons for continuing prudent, reasonable social measures to reduce and limit the risks of CV infections and illness/death in a society. Because while the vaccines can do a lot of good, they're not perfect and absolute preventers of CV infection, illness and death. And of course, in Thailand and elsewhere, there remain large portion of society that haven't been fully vaccinated even now, and remain at risk despite the availability of vaccines.

How does this effect tourism when you have to be vaccinated and tested before traveling and after arriving?

hum...elsewhere maybe...but you might be (not) surprised to see how (much) this is translated when it reaches the ears of the organisers ( of the Thailand Pass)

Really?

Today in Germany another record in Covid cases.

37200 today and rising.

Wait until the winter arrives.

They will have to be stabbed a third time, that’s is happening now in Israel,Uk.

NZ has just ordered 4.7 million doses  ,gearing up for stab no 3, and stabbing children from 5 yrs and up, but that’s where I draw the line not my kid.

Over 99% of children don’t require treatment for COVID ,maybe they will mandate it so you’re kid’s won’t be allowed back to school , we will be back in Thailand then where it’s less crazy than NZ.

Israel has stabbed over 4 million with a third booster shot same happening in the Uk, efficacy fades after 6 months off double doses with all the vaccines, so now they’re saying to get the efficacy back up you will need a booster. They also say you still can catch Delta and spread it, but your less likely to be hospitalized, there are plenty off papers on this subject published and available to read online.
