U.S. Topic -- Predictions for the Kyle Rittenhouse Trial?

Although it isnt quite that simple

Actually, it is.  He went to a violent protest, armed for battle.  Prepared to kill if necessary.  He shot and killed unarmed people.  But you could call it manslaughter.

If he stayed home and let the police deal with this, a few people would still be alive today and his future wouldn't be ruined.  Along with many others.

  • Not guilty, as it was self defense.  Obvious from the testimony given.

  • You need a better source for your news.  It was murder.  Plain and simple.  Premeditated at that.

  • Part of the disgraceful conduct of this case is that Rittenhouse has not been charged for his violations of weapons laws.  He obtained his gun illegally since he was below the age for a license.  And

OK.  It doesn't look good.  The US is a power keg right now.  Those wanting social justice, and those who feel their America is changing color.

A percentage of the jury will be Fox viewers so they would never vote to convict a white guy for carrying around an AR15 and shooting up "lefties."

Justice is what happens in the Court of law , those not accepting the rule of law are not seeking any justice

I have faith that the Jury will abide by USA laws .

You are aware of why these riots happened, right?  Hardly the rule of law there.  Police are getting away with too many murders now.  It's a real problem in the US.  Excessive use of force.

That was the problem though , the Police were not dealing with the rioters and they were roaming the streets freely burning property and it was left to the public to defend their property .

You can say the same for the deceased , if THEY would have stayed at home and not participated in the unrest , they wouldn't have gotton shot

The burden of fatal police violence is an urgent public health crisis in the USA. Mounting evidence shows that deaths at the hands of the police disproportionately impact people of certain races and ethnicities, pointing to systemic racism in policing. Recent high-profile killings by police in the USA have prompted calls for more extensive and public data reporting on police violence. This study examines the presence and extent of under-reporting of police violence in US Government-run vital registration data, offers a method for correcting under-reporting in these datasets, and presents revised estimates of deaths due to police violence in the USA.

We are talking about any potential riots if they happen because of the Kyle verdict .

If people riot and loot because of the Kyle verdict , they wont be rioting for justice

One would have thought that after the Chauvin trial, that the message would be getting though............................... I mean surely he's in for some serious punishment??, nobody would want to be in his shoes that's for sure........................................I'm not from the US and no nothing about different state laws etc, so......................................................

If he was defending HIS property I could understand his use of force, but he wasn't, he was out patrolling the streets.

You really are not trying to imply that the U.S. court system is a perfect system incapable of mistakes, are you?

They are exactly connected.  People protesting injustice by the police.

Chauvin got jailed for 22 years for the death of Floyd , how can they claim to be rioting for justice when Chauvin got a guilty verdict ?

There is an appeal process to rectify any mistakes .

Rittenhouse showed extremely poor judgement by coming to the protest with an AR assault rifle fully loaded with armor piercing ammunition that he knew he could not be legally in possession of and using it to kill two people and blow a third man's upper arm bicep off.

The two guys who were shot after the initial shooting appear to have been behaving more like people trying to disarm an active shooter and prevent him from getting away than someone trying to physically assault or kill him. Be it due to bad judgment, poor firearms training, immaturity or a combination of all three, there's little doubt in my mind that Rittenhouse's life was never truly threatened and the carnage that he caused could have been avoided, and that he should be punished for what he did.

I do think Rittenhouse breaking down on the witness stand appeared to have been pre-planned, and the judge appears to be acting like his own son is on trial. I'm wondering if those who argue that it should be treated as self-defense are aware that all three victims are white, or if they would feel the same way if Rittenhouse was black and he shot two white men trying to apprehend him after he had shot another white man. Somehow I doubt it.

A short jail sentence in my opinion. The guy is clearly an idiot, but ultimately he was attacked by rioters (one of which was a convicted paedophile and the other had been convicted of domestic abuse) and acted in self defence, albeit with excessive force.

However he had no reason to be there, he was looking for trouble and found it. An acquittal would lead to huge riots so I'd expect a short jail term.

Hopefully he'll get a shortened sentence for doing the public a service by removing a child rapist (Rosenbaum) from the face of the earth.

A man still died.  Just one in a long stream of men who've died because of police shootings.  No officer was charged with anything.  Nothing.  For Blake's shooting.

If you have the money.  Most don't

Americans like their guns and shooting other people , its the nature of their society, stems from Cowboys and Indians , not much can be done about that

Yeah, not good.  But Rosenbaum spent a decade in jail for that.  But what you suggest is terrible.  And this had nothing to do with his previous crimes.

These guys were intent on doing battle.

Kyle Rittenhouse trial: What it takes to prove self defense to a jury?

A black football player takes a knee to protest police brutality and the right wingers think he is “unAmerican,  should be fired and deported.”

But a white guy wearing tactical gear, carting pepper spray and a baseball bat, attacks the police, crashes thru a window of the Capitol, ransacks the place while hunting down the VP to hang him is a true patriot.

Of course theses people on a jury that watch Tucker on Fox won’t be convicting their hero Kyle.

Which of the Jurys members watch Tucker on Fox news ?

Is your statement based on any facts or just something you made up ?

The way I see it is that 10 years is nowhere near enough for what he did. So Karma increased his sentence to one that is more appropriate. Feel free to disagree though.

His conviction had nothing to do with what happened that day, but tells you a lot about the character of the man, as do other videos on YouTube showing him to be ultra aggressive. Totally in line with Rittenhouse's story about being attacked by this scumbag. Good riddance to bad rubbish, who knows how many children he would have abused in the coming years...
