One thing left out on these statistics.

Incoming passengers consist of 4 completely different categories.

1. Fully vaccinated

2. Unvacccinated

3. vaccinated, but not from approved countries, so quarantine applies.

4. Thai nationals

Would be very interesting to know of the 24 from 44,774 visitors, how many were fully vaccinated.

Betting it's one of less.

This whole thing about 2 rows either side of someone testing positive needing to be quarantined, is quite unnecessary for fully vaccinated travelers. This will be a major reason many will choose not to come to Thailand now. Should just be quick antigen test, and on your way.  Breakout cases are running at around 0.03% for fully vaccinated world-wide, then if you add PCR test before flying those odds go way down, and 3 100's of 1 percent is quite low to begin with.

24 Test and Go - fully vaccinated

19 Sandboxers - fully vaccinated

43 Breakout Covid cases out of 44,774 visitors....  That’s close to 0.1% of vaccinated arrivals testing positive.

I know quite a few people who have had Covid-19 after vaccination, all perfectly fine or have mild symptoms - I suspect the % of breakout cases is a lot higher than 0.03% you quote (vaccines of course still incredibly important - have to mention that before the antivaxxers remove context from my comment).

Is this actually a thing? Info from a viable source or just rumour ?

Has this actually happened..... at all ????

Those who have tested positive on after getting here must have been sat near some people yet there are no stories of people being forced into Quarantine / isolation after sitting next to someone who has tested positive while they themselves test negative.

Domestic travel will drive infection numbers up. 44,722 happy campers but 52 on a holiday in hospital.

Well cambodia had a big holiday last month, millions travelling all over the country, numbers continued to drop, so no spike from domestic travel.. This covid seems to come in waves, when numbers go up in Europe they go down over this side, when they go down in Europe, up over this side.

How many of this 51% had their 2nd jab 6 months ago and need a 3rd jab? So 2nd jab in June. 3rd dose sits at 3.91%. As for 51% well this is a bit misleading but still very, very low. Using Kalasin as an example only 31.2% fully vaccinated. On the other hand BKK is at 97.2%. Almost 100% double jabbed? I know someone in BKK hasn't had their 1st.

All these percentages are bogus because they don't include jab rates for little humans, 5 & up. Kids are the real infection driver. Don't behave like this is over.

5-11 have had no jabs. As for bogus well the so called democratically elected junta is bogus as is everything they say. Real democratically elected governments lie. These guys are military and very conservative as all juntas are and will not let go of power no matter what. Do not believe anything coming out of this very dangerous mob of thugs.

"24 Test and Go" From what I read this is still ALL incoming passengers, minus sandbox.  Everyone incoming gets PCR tested, and the article did not breakout this, only separated Test and Go, and Sandbox arrivals..... not Fully vaccinated, and not vax'd. In other words is separated by arrival location, and not vaccination status.

0.03% is CDC official numbers, not something, I think or someone else thinks, might be so.

Even if one went with 0.01%, then throw in a PCR before departure, that is going to catch the vast majority of breakout cases, and they wouldn't even be allowed to board. Many countries currently are going with this strategy. Others are doing Rapid Test on arrival. Phuket, from what I read, just changed to no test on arrival.  The majority of breakout cases, are from people who have other underlying illnesses. Most people with these underlying conditions are already not going to be hopping all over the world.

Thailand has recently stated, and rightly so, that going forward we need to start working towards, learning to live with Covid, and not being like China, with the impossible task of completely eliminating it. Covid is endemic worldwide, and sooner everyone comes to understand this, life can get back to somewhat normal. There's no combination of vaccine, and lock-down, that's going to completely eliminate it worldwide.

So only another 36 million people to go!

The questions are

How many of these people can't get it?

How many of these people don't want it?

Most countries with a 50 million plus population are averaging around 70-75% double vaccination rates. So i assume they have another 18 million to go. They are averaging around 2 million a week - so we are going into mid January before they reach their 70% target.
