This must be the first time in global history that a destination has 'won' travel recommendation destination of the year from a country that haven't and will not send any tourists in the same year.

  • A couple of years from now the headline will be :   Chinese travellers name Thailand their ‘Recommended Annexation of The Year '

  • Another misleading statements - 'quarantine free'? It is certainly NOT quarantine free, it is quarantine 1 day plus you must have Covid test and expensive health insurance. That will put many genuine

Absolutely daft award and story.

I'm Phuket at the moment, Patong is pretty happening.  Not a Chinese in sight at the resort I'm at nor walking street.  Did overhear a South Korean couple at a restaurant.  Are they all up in Chiang Mai?

What is in stall for everyone when the CCP-proud Chinese tourists come piling back into LOS.

Sure, they are amicable to their Thai allies, but will be interesting how they react to Westerners post COVID (and vice-versa) after being forcefully spoon-fed two years of delusional propaganda and conspiracy theories.  Wouldn't be surprised if they have security escorts wherever they travel.
