In one video on the Facebook page for KHT Firearms, a young woman is seen holding a fully automatic assault rifle that looks half her size.  Wearing glasses and ear protection, she fires off an explosive burst as her instructor laughs and gives the thumbs-up beside her.

“Okay, you’re out of rounds! One moment and we’ll fill up another 60 for you!” he says to the camera with a laugh. Visibly shaken, she cracks a smile in agreement.

The video is just one of many clips advertising KHT Firearm’s new compact rifles, designed specifically for an Asian market with “smaller physical bodies.”

Thailand’s first homemade rifle;

I am sure that is not true!

The co-founder, Konnarong Tungfun, 39, says he has manufactured Thailand’s first homemade assault rifle, the DT17

From the article:

Buying a weapon legally takes time and requires heavy paperwork. Yet it hasn’t stopped thousands of Thais from getting their hands on a range of weapons in a country with the highest percentages of gun ownership in Southeast Asia.

“It’s in the millions. It’s always growing,” actor turned gun enthusiast Danai Smuthkochorn told Thai Enquirer about the number of firearms in circulation.

Thailand had about 10 million privately owned firearms in 2016 or one for about every seven people.

Thailand already has a “rampant black market for firearms,” which he says includes local craft-produced weapons.

The numbers in the story, if correct are frighting.  No ordinary person needs a weapon.

Unfortunately, there are estimated to be  5--10 million unregistered weapons here also

Simply make an length adjustable folding stock universal to all long rifles.  No need to make a 'small Asian' firearm.  Hopefully it is adjustable, as short stock rifle, would be very hard to shoot accurately.

Already available for many of the .223 (AR15, Ruger mini 14) & AK47, and many others.  Just a headliner for the ignorant buyers.

Off topic troll post removed also a post with an altered quote

Thank you.......no justification whatsoever for anyone outside of law enforcement or the military to even touch a gun.

Nah a machete doesn't need ammo... cheaper to run.

ordering one now, love it ????

can farangs own such guns? ????

I don't know who can legally purchase these fully automatic rifles but even in the USA they would be illegal.  Any fully automatic rifle or pistol is sold strictly through special licensed dealers by the Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms department.  These dealers sell to law enforcement.

Semi Automatics which is what an AR-15, AK47, Mini 14 etc are require a pull of the trigger for each time the gun is fired.

Except for times of revolution and overthrow.

At times it's the only way - especially when the ruling powers [over decades] cannot be reasoned with.

As a Firearms Instructor at Club level with the NSRA in the UK, I find the picture an appalling breach of many things to do with Safety on that Pistol Range.

These peole should not be even allowed Water Pistols.

your wife or GF can quite easily
but it takes 3-6 months depending on province
only requirement is you need a few million baht of assets to protect

will have to show the wife this.

Something else needs to be spotlighted.

Looking at the picture of ladies trigger fingers near or on the trigger suggests they need first to learn gun etiquette. It's insane to have novices shoulder to shoulder holding the armed guns.

Brandishing guns in Flipflops and not enough money to practice.

Do we have statistics how many Somchais shot them selves in the foot?
