Not alarmingly so but it is a concern with a lack of testing. In Hua Hin since yesterday, It's fairly empty. We had to show our vaccination certs and were also screened as well as needing to show the Mor Prom and Mor Chana Apps on our phones. I asked why the Mor Chana app and the man Indicated because we were tourists. I asked if the Thais arriving had to have the apps as well and he said no they were from Thailand and not tourists. Shook my head at his reasoning and explained we lived in Thailand and were not international tourists. At that point he asked to see our Pink ID cards instead of the passports and then said he needed to look at the Certificates on the Mor Prom app. Just boggles me to think how different foreigners are treated from Thais when we both live in the country. However, this is Thailand and is just another hoop.

Hopefully that will happen, with the last published testing stat it revealed a positivity rate of 6.1% so indeed more testing is needed. It was obvious there would be an uptick in cases once schools and Bangla was opened but with the aim that this is now endemic then keeping it under control with acceptable levels is vital to avoid a scenario that nobody wants to see again.

Of these, 67% were among people 65 years and older. Global burden estimates were robust to the choice of countries included in the extrapolation model. For people <65 years, higher baseline respiratory mortality, lower level of access to health care and seasons dominated by the A(H1N1)pdm09 subtype were associated with higher influenza-associated mortality, while lower level of socio-demographic development and A(H3N2) dominance was associated with higher influenza mortality in adults ≥65 years. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6815659/ Global deaths from Covid-19 (widely seen as a substantial underestimate) as of today. 5,201,890.
