Been on road for 3 weeks now.

Coke Cola beach then Samet and now Pattaya (fireworks festival). Haven't pulled out pp once.

Didn't even show vaccination record entering Koh Samet (national park)

Nothing at hotel in Pattaya.

Can you get an alcoholic drink with dinner, or by the pool, at your hotel in Pattaya?

This new variant that has emerged in South Africa, has been described as " Horrendous " and the worst Mutation by far of any that have come previously.

Much worse than Delta apparently.

Somebody took a bag of all the worst variants, shook it up and produced the most heavily mutated version yet. Just in time for Christmas. Thanks China

All bars are shut down Beach Rd area.

Booze from 7/11 and drink wherever no problem.

Coke Cola beach drink on beach no problem.

Rayong beach areas the same along with on the beach from food places.

Note strangely Rayong 7/11 no alcohol sales after 2pm.

Koh Samet everything no issue.

Not many masks on Koh Samet.

The first  pic just now our hotel Pattaya.

Another pic showing devastation to Pattaya business.

Last pic business as usual.

Some areas have been destroyed some not so much.

I follow your posts on covid every day, they are well informed and I tend to agree with most of them, but this thank you China stuff you just wrote is just pure idiotic racism.

Care to enlighten us on who spawned the pandemic. Why not make a sarcastic comment like he did in thanking China for all they have done to ensure this virus was around longtime. Can you tell us?

No opposite.

All the folk where I've stayed it's a combination of purchase from food vendors on beach or if you wish purchase from 7/11 and consume pretty much wherever.

Our hotel has a pool. Our 'gang' has stocks in room and consume around the pool.

No sales from hotel.

Keep in mind Pattaya has many places such as View Talay (next to Hilton with people renting via agents. No restrictions.

That's one reason why I'm so nicked off with the rules relating to small open air bars.

There are not many tourists currently in Thailand.

Most folk here (Pattaya) and Samet and Rayong are vast majority Thai. They in the mail don't go to bars.

Next week will spend time in Bang Saen. That place will have many Thais drinking songsam with soda on beach and around their trucks.

Good on em.

Coke Cola beech pic with food and beverage week ago.

The place they wanted to kill all along was Pattaya.

Ever been to Sihanoukville.

It's on the way to Pattaya.

Just need casino licences to complete the job.

WHO meets to designate new variant, cautions against travel measures

GENEVA, Nov 26 (Reuters) - The World Health Organisation (WHO) on Friday cautioned countries against hastily imposing travel restrictions linked to the new B.1.1.529 variant of COVID-19, saying they should take a "risk-based and scientific approach".

Correction to my earlier post.

The gang just walked down to Pattaya beach road for fireworks festival.

Many big signs no alcohol and big police presence.

So you can cram in like sardines but zero alcohol.

It's official ....Thai gov has lost the plot.

Crazy rubbish.

BUT we want tourists.....won't ever happen with these types of controls and restrictions.

Until the next one!

It's just impossible to know. There were some on here with 'expert knowledge' saying that any variant after Delta will be weaker. There were also some on here saying how do you know. Let's see how this runs and what is the nature of this variant. As it is it doesn't sound good but maybe it runs out of steam quickly or maybe it doesn't and becomes more dominant.

China will get away scott free with this. What a disgrace to the international community when money outweighs the people. Absolutely shameful.

First case in Belgium of the new B1.1.529 variant:

In Belgium, one sample was confirmed as the novel B.1.1.529 variant (in a returning traveller from Egypt (11/11); first symptoms on 22/11)

The spread starts now just like the first spread from Wuhan.  Hopefully the world does not dramatically shut again...
