LGBTQ+ groups and supporters rally in Bangkok to demand equal rights

In an earlier post you are referring tot he high court ruling against same sex marriage: the decision was not made against,  but in accordance with the Constitution.

Amending, or better, as suggested by some groups, creating a new bill will be a difficult path but it is not utopian.

I might add that although not officially recognised, it is "accepted" as I have had a few experiences and I was able to exercise my "right" to get official documentation.

Mind you, I will keep you posted later on as we are supposed to go to the bank this afternoon to try to open a joint bank account. This was declined a few months ago as a relationship must be established in order to do so : )

Well TTB bank refused to admit our mariage certificate ...under Thai Law...it was to be expected but not important to me

  • The T is for transgender.   The truth is, away from convenient reactionary red meat code words, LGBT, etc. Thais (and expats involved with them) actually DO lack equal legal and civil rights

  • I'm an old Farang....I want equal rights here also!

Can't blame them for following the law. The law should be changed.

That's cute and really another issue but back to this one you can marry opposite sex here but not same sex. Not equal. Also same sex marriages from abroad involving Thais and or non Thais are not recognized in Thailand.

I strongly object to your statement that it's "cute" that I noted that nobody has any enforceable civil rights in Thailand. Another issue, yes definitely, but maybe you need to think outside of your own little box. No one's safe until everyone's safe.

Irrelevant statement, women are also murdered Men are also murdered. 375 Transgender people murdered in one year, 87000 women in one year, usually killed by men,  More than twice that amount of men murdered in one year. You are clutching at straws

Nope. Its about percentages.

LGBT people nearly four times more likely than non-LGBT people to be victims of violent crime

Nope. Its about percentages.

44 (maybe 45 depending on where you look) transgenders were killed in the US in 2020 out of 21570 murders.

That’s 0.2% (.002) of the murders.

What percentage of people identify as transgender in the US?  Approximately .4% (.004)  based on various surveys.

Back to the topic on hand.  LGBT+ want to get married?  Fine by me.  Whatever.

And I really wander if the Ls like the Gs and are also happy with the Bs, Ts, Qs and whatever else.

Do they all tolerate each other? Or only as long as they fight against the common enemy, all those heteroses.

Once again your post reveals lack of understanding and knowledge of the issues at hand , posted from a true heteronormative viewpoint.

My point is supposed to be that if they want to be equal then I think it would help them to be less aggressive. They win few hearts and minds by demanding aggressively what they want.

Thanks for proving my point.

Not really, I ignore them most of the time.

And what was accomplished in the 1950's and 60's when they weren't aggressive ?
