Vaccine reaction

Wife, Sister-in-law and grand-niece all had their second inoculations yesterday. It was Pfitzer, the first jag having been AstraZenica.

After the first jag all had minor reactions which cleared by midday the following day. However at 10pm tonight all are still complaining of sore heads, diarrhoea and general feeling of being unwell. I am not sure how common this is.

I, myself, had two jags of AstraZeneca, after the first I had minor reactions which cleared by midday the day after, but I cannot remember any reaction from the second.

Why were they not given az as the second shot?

It seems general policy to outphase AZ.

Pfizer even used here at the village health center on Nov 30.

Daughter (health volunteer) got a Pfizer booster (after Sinovac and AZ).

Didn't hear about any remarkable reactions from her.

Cross vaccinations recommened in other countries too.

Like Germany: Moderna after Pfizer.

No it is definitely not a policy to phase out AZ.

However a combo of AZ and Pfizer appears to provide the very best protection.

Perhaps this was a side effect, or perhaps food poisoning.

Mild reactions after a vaccine is normal... however diarrhea not so much.
If it gets worse, especially unexplained source of diarrhea, they should go see a doctor.

Six weeks

Six weeks were too short. Originally, a waiting period of 16 weeks was recommended after an AstraZenaca jab before administering the second shot with the same or any other vaccine. Later, the recommendation was reduced to 12 weeks.

You are mistaken, the 16 or 12 weeks is only if both shots are AZ
