Hepatitis C Treatment

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just been advised by my local clinic here in Phuket I have tested positive to Hep C. (just awaiting further blood test results to confirm the genotype etc,)

The Doctor showed me the most probable medication I will need "MyHep ALL" and he has quoted me 15,000 Baht for 1 bottle (he mentions i will need 3 bottles / 3 months worth of treatment.

Has anyone else had the misfortune of needing this medication and where I could possibly find this medication (or a Thai manufactured generic version) at a more realistic and affordable price?

Thanks in advance.

I would go to a hospital and do the test again to be sure, you needed the 3 dose Twinrix vaccine long ago it would have helped even though its a Hep A/B vaccine........

The first place I'd look at would be the Red Cross in Silom.

But what was all this talk about health insurance?

This is an Indian generic drug and there is nothing cheaper to be had. It is, in fact, a tiny fraction of the cost of treatment with propriety brands.  See

It might therefore l make sense to wait a few months first and then re-test to see if your body is clearing it -- especially if the infection is likely to be fairly recent. . (Exception being if your liver function is affected)
