Many "bars" are still closed as they are up for sale or rent. Some "bars" off Soi 94 doing great most nights; Soi 80 reasonably quiet, most bars shut their doors at 10.00 pm, but customers inside; Soi Bintabaht area about a dozen bars open, but not so busy most nights. The local "authorities" seem to do a drive-by most nights. The local authority's main office complex was (is) 2 blocks away from bintabaht but couldn't be bothered to even go outside. Wildrover9999
It's 7pm on December 27th., Christmas week, and Hua Hin entertainment area, from the Hilton, down to Chao Lay seafood, and back around via Soi Bintabhat, is like a ghost town......my favourite breakfast spot, The Coffee Club, is gone, the nightclub attached to the Hilton is gone, the great sports bar next to it is gone, even the Burger King next to Father Ted's Irish Pub is gone......so many "for sale" and "for rent" signs up. Maybe 10%-15% of bars on Bintabhat are open. The locals are saying the Government has "done nothing" to help them, zip, nada, rien, f"*k all........and now the cancellation of Thailand pass has just taken the little gust of wind, blown in by a few tourists arriving in the last four weeks, out of their sails, they are crushed!!! The silver lining is that green fees at Black Mountain are ridiculously low, playing there on Wednesday. It is sad to see Hua Hin like this, very sad.
