December 13, 20214 yr Popular Post My flight arrives on 15th, stay the night at airport hotel and then hit Pattaya on morning of 16th, the supposed re-opening day. So far I know Irish Rovers is open for my usual breaky and a couple of beer starters. Where to head after that for my first day of Pattaya booze and fun for 26 months ???? Edit: hopefully not 7-11 lol Edited December 13, 20214 yr by aussiexpat
December 13, 20214 yr Popular Post You will need a crystal ball for answers to that one.......as an aside all Aussie male visitors of late have been deported upon arrival at swampy....dunno why LOL
December 13, 20214 yr Popular Post None...absolutely no chance. Omicrom has ended all hope for the forseeable Out of control completely in the UK Extremely transmissable
December 13, 20214 yr Popular Post I don't think anybody here can give you the answer that you want, Today is 13th of December and you will be going to Pattaya on the 16th of January. That is 34 days away and the Thai government can change the rules at least 10 to 20 times during this period and probably will. They are the ones who say what, where and when which places will be legally open for business. It is quite probable that many bars, restaurants etc will be open for business anyway but just because they are open does not mean that they will be legal. Nowadays in Thailand you pays your money and you take your chance.
December 13, 20214 yr Author So it looks like a walk to Hungry hippo for lunch, hopefully seeing something open on LK Metro on the way ????

December 13, 20214 yr Popular Post For me when I was a holiday farang here I didn't like to plan out my day like some kind of schedule, I liked just walking around and seeing what was open and if it looked inviting, I'd visit.

"Has anyone died of Omicron variant? No, as it currently stands no-one has died as a result of the Omicron variant." So not a single person in the entire World has died of, or even with the Omicron varient....why so scared? https://www.goodto.com/wellbeing/health/symptoms-omicron-variant-anyone-died-639120 Edited December 13, 20214 yr by aussiexpat

December 13, 20214 yr Popular Post 55 minutes ago, aussiexpat said: So not a single person in the entire World has died of, or even with the Omicron varient....why so scared? Because lots of people will get it and a small percent will be hospitalised. A small percent of lots is enough to fill hospital beds to the extent that lots of other conditions won't be treated and people will die.

December 13, 20214 yr Author So Irish Rovers, Beer Hubb, Hooters and Hopf. That should keep me busy for awhile ????
December 14, 20214 yr Plenty of "restaurants" open now so no problem getting a drink. They were rammed on Sunday night with people watching the F1 race. But bars/a go gos, who knows.
December 14, 20214 yr I wouldn't put any money on the bars in Pattaya reopening next month, the Pattaya-hater in Government House will find some excuse to keep them shut. Further evidence of his intention to stuff the city is its absence from the list of approved New Year Countdown locations.

Further evidence of his intention to stuff the city is its absence from the list of approved New Year Countdown locations. I think that if this government has a view, it is to take this opportunity to once and for all, 'clean up' the down market parts/reputation of Pattaya , with the support of the Chon Buri Governor, and maybe even, less overtly, the Pattaya Mayor No bad thing in my view, but that will not be popular with some on here.
December 14, 20214 yr Author If all these bars are open now I might as well come earlier after all. In fact if 5 star bar on the beach and Bodega bar are open on 2nd road that's not much different to my pre-covid routine ???? Edited December 14, 20214 yr by aussiexpat

Do you really plan a month or more ahead where you will drink and eat in Pattaya in your extended holiday? Personally when I go out then it's something like: Let's go to Soi 6. And then: Lets have a look in here and maybe an hour later: Lets go out and visit another place. Too much planning doesn't make it any better.
