How sell 2 Moderna shots purchased from private hospital in Bangkok

Is it correct that people can now get the Moderna shot free in Bangkok? A Thai friend bought them a while back, with no-refund but transfer-ok policy. She would like to re-sell them, but would there be takers? If can't sell, what else could she do with them? The cost was not small compared to her salary. Thanks for advice.

I just let them go... call it stupidity tax. Got 2x AZ in the meantime and lined up for Pfizer booster... nothing to do with those.

Some managed to get MedPark to refund the jabs, I didn't try this. Even though it would be difficult to provide me with what they promised in contract - jab or refund by 31 Dec 2021. My queue is nearly 900k and they are at half that now.

A Thai friend

There is a Facebook page

This one. Although I imagine there are many, many, many more.

A Facebook group with about 4,800 members, called Moderna First Lot Reservations, had users selling doses for around 1,000 baht ($29.82) with some offering to buy shots for as low as 800 baht, down from an original price of 1,650 baht.

Your thai friend should be able to find it. Average resale price was 1,200 (from ~ 1,650), low price is 800.

I've just got my Moderna booster last week, but now I've got an extra Moderna dose, and like your Thai friend, I'm unsure what do with it.

But I just read that the Israelis are now giving 4th doses to the immunocompromised and over 60's. So it might be worth keeping an extra dose as a super-booster in case you need some more antibodies later.

I couldn't find that Facebook page selling Moderna.

Luckily a friend had an extra.

I'm driving down from Issan to Bangkok on the 11th, were both getting boosters.

Payment: Dinner somewhere or room service if everything is completely shutdown by then.

All this urgency to get boosters in the World news will show how inept and the actual scarcity of boosters available in Thailand.

Good luck with that, I'm getting my moderna booster for free today.

Assuming you're in Thailand, can you share some information on who's giving free Moderna shots? Originally, it was only private hospitals who were part of the deal to acquire Moderna vaccines. But the situation may have changed since that deal got signed.

I have had all my injections for free. My wife deals with it. The pu yai of our village asked us to sign up for vaccinations and we did, after that everything was automatic, we were told to go to the market town where a school had been turned into a vaccination center I got sinovac as number one then astra as number two a few weeks later (astra number 3 later somewhere else by mistake). Several days ago my wife received a message on her app that we were to both go to the village clinic to get a moderna booster today. Simple, all comes to those who wait, just follow the instructions, I have found the whole procedure to be well organized.

My answer: the government

via the thai red cross (which is owned and operated by the "government"), to select individuals, especially any with a link to the military.

The "government" (GPO) placed the Moderna order, which included some for itself (under the thai Red Cross guise), and a large quantity which mostly thai citizens pre-paid for.

The first shipment (560,000 doses) arrived mid November, and I think there have been subsequent deliveries.

Ms. Sunaiyanaa Kidkasetpaisal, General Manager at ZP Therapeutics, Zuellig Pharma Thailand, stated, "The company is pleased to announce that we are ready to deliver the first batch of 560,000 doses of COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna as previously stated. The remaining of the 1.9 million doses will continue to be delivered until the end of 2021 as informed by Moderna. The other 6.8 million doses are expected to be handed over in the first quarter of 2022. ZP Therapeutics draws upon our unparalleled commercialisation capabilities, expertise, and experience to support the Thai government and private healthcare institutions in advancing national efforts for COVID-19 vaccination programmes."

So you've had four (4) vaccinations?

Sounds like your wife found it to be organized. You're just the pin-cushion.

I've delayed mine until mid to late 2022 gen 2. If you want to sell, advertise on Facebook or here. Usually the hospital involved will explain how to transfer to someone else

You delayed it to use as extra booster? What is "gen 2"? Thanks.

Second generation vaccine. All first gen vaccines are made against original Wuhan COVID, but the Gen2 was supposed to be against Delta... how much does that help against Omicron is yet to be seen.

The accidental vaccination in a different village came about because my wife read about it on her phone as we approached the village, boosters were being given out so we went. The wife reckons it was for the big shots only but whatever I got mine but just as the missus was about to get hers a nurse reading our paperwork put an end to the procedure and even tore up the paperwork relating to that injection and told us to leave, muttering something about it being dangerous. Whatever, no ill effects but the wife didn't get hers. So I have had 1 Sinovac 2 Astra and 1 Moderna.
