snoop1130
BANGKOK (NNT) - The Royal Thai Army (RTA) is working with relevant parties to help residents affected by conflict near the Thai-Myanmar border. According to Deputy Army Spokeswoman Col Sirichan Ngathong, Army Chief Gen Narongphan Jitkaewtae recently attended a meeting at the RTA headquarters to discuss clashes between the Myanmar military and a minority group. The army chief underlined the need for all parties to look after residents affected by the conflict and follow the national defense plan. Armed forces have been patrolling border areas and assisting people crossing the border from Myanmar to reach temporary camps. The army will also provide assistance to those wanting to return to Myanmar when the conflict becomes less severe near the border. Naresuan Task Force Commander Maj Gen Prasan Saengsirirak has ordered the 14th Infantry Regiment to cooperate with state authorities to repair damaged buildings in war zones. He also proposed that residents of Muen Rue Chai village in Phop Phra district build a bunker to protect themselves. The Royal Thai Army will meanwhile urge Myanmar forces to be more cautious in its actions through the Thai-Myanmar township border committee, especially when it comes to stray gunfire and explosive ordnance in Thai territory. Meanwhile, Government Spokesperson Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said after yesterday’s cabinet meeting that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has given instructions on the Thai-Myanmar border conflict. He said the government will adhere to ASEAN’s five-point consensus, which includes urging an immediate end to violence in Myanmar and the start of constructive dialogue to pursue a peaceful solution. The Prime Minister has also ordered the army to provide humanitarian assistance for people crossing the border into Mae Sot district to escape the ongoing conflict. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-12-29 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

So much shelling and airiel bombs being dropped with many villages being burned to the ground. Atrocities and no safe refuge with indiscriminate killing. 1
