bobandyson
The Clown and the Candyman (2021) fmovies. 2 Episodes. "The 1970s saw a rise in serial killers unlike anything the United States had previously seen. Two of the killers operating during this time were John Wayne Gacy in Chicago and Dean Corll in Houston. Gacy and Corll were far more sinister than their outward facing personas, and their depraved actions resulted in the deaths of more than 60 young men and women and brought heartbreak to countless families, with some of their victims still unidentified to this day. The police believed the murders were the work of sole killers, but for the first time, the sordid secret revealing the network of pedophiles spanning the country is explored. This network included prominent members of American society with tentacles in some of our most trusted institutions. THE CLOWN AND THE CANDYMAN takes viewers down the rabbit hole to a murky world of predators in the '70s.—Anonymous" This trailer is from the podcast from which the documentary is made. Popular Post Blue Muton
The first episodes of S4 of the Canadian crime drama Coroner have dropped. I like it. "Based on the best-selling series of books by M.R. Hall, "Coroner" follows a recently widowed coroner who investigates unnatural, suspicious or sudden deaths in Toronto. She visits different areas of the city and experiences the diversity of Toronto. She taps into her heart and intellect as she solves cases with the help of homicide detective Donovan McAvoy, pathologist Dr. Dwayne Allen and his assistant River Baitz, and Alison Trent, Jenny's assistant. All while doing her day job, Jenny deals with clinical anxiety, a teenage son named Ross, and working toward a prospective relationship." 2
recom273
Did anyone mention stay close ? I know the general consensus is that James Nesbit rocks, but I think this one got the thumbs down. Is it worth a look, just caught a conversation on discord saying how good it was. Anyone?
Popular Post Blue Muton
Returning to the theme of historical dramas (although this one is a bit of a crossover with supernatural / psychedelic), S3 of Britannia started last week, two episodes having dropped thus far. Another one that we enjoyed watching and as mentioned last year series 1&2 have a great soundtrack, hoping for that to continue into the new series. David Morrisey, Mackenzie Crook and Zoe Wannamaker among others have, among others, excelled (as you might expect). "Britannia is set in A.D. 43, when the Romans invaded Britain led by General Aulus Plautius, who is determined to succeed where Julius Caesar failed and conquer this mythical land on the very end of the Roman Empire. Kerra, daughter of the King of the Cantii, is forced to put her differences with arch-rival Queen Antedia aside in order to unite the tribes and supposedly magical Druids and face their invaders. But General Aulus carries a secret that threatens to undermine the entire mission." 6.8 on IMDb but I'd rate it around 7.5 FWIW. 1

I watched it but it took about 3 weeks. Not very good, the acting was a bit cheesy at times and unrealistic police scenes. Had read the book a few years ago, it was quite good, so knew what was coming.

Popular Post sanuk711
Anyone into Sci-Fi watching "The book of Boba Fett"...... ? I am quite enjoying it--- other than having to wait a week for each episode which I'm not so used to now. Sort of a spin off from Mandalorian & Star wars, but its also got Ming-Na Wen in it---which is a bonus---Saw her in a TV interview last year--getting on for 60 and still looking good.

Jingthing
I'm currently watching Shrill (or as some might say the fat girl show) binging on the second and third seasons. There are plenty of black, gay, and Asian characters but as its set in modern day Portland Oregon hardly a stretch.

The Hammer2021
Whilst waiting to start the newly released The Responder with Martin Freeman I revisited Ray Donovan of which 7 series were released. Trigger Point looks good but on tinyzonetv.to only one episode has been released but the production team associated with Trigger Point also made 'Vigil' which was pretty weak and was dropped after one series unlike Line of Duty which generated 6 series. Watching Ray Donovan again helps with understanding the Ray Donovan movie. Soon to be released is series 2 of The Outlaws an excellent Bristol based comedy with Steven Merchant
